About: 

Deonte Baker, a Chicago native has been singing since he was seven years old! He grew up with his mom and 5 brothers and started singing at his grandfather’s church with his family. As he got older he received his formal training from Institutions like Columbia College Chicago, and The Chicago West Community Music Center. Deonte began to sing professionally at age 13 with national recording Artist Kenny Lewis and One Voice. In 2018, he appeared on American Idol as a contestant making it to solo rounds in Hollywood. Deonte is currently one of the background singers for Grammy nominated artist Miki Howard. He has been serving Chicago’s teens as a vocal instructor for After School Matters with his own program at Hyde Park Academy HS.
