About:
New Music enthusiasts and chamber music specialists, Juan Horie and Sixto Franco have joined forces to form the Quijote Duo, a formation that strives to create spaces for innovation and experimentation through collaboration.
With a combined experience in many fields including theater, education, composition, concert music and arts management, the Quijote Duo has been expanding the limits of the performative arts and the relationships between artist, performance and audience. Based in Chicago, Quijote duo is committed to supporting emergent composers resulting in numerous premiers in its short existence.
Fulcrum Point New Music Project pushes the boundaries of the musical experience globally by supporting new compositions, creating and performing transformative new music programs, and educating audiences of all ages and backgrounds to imagine the possibilities of music. Founded by trumpeter Stephen Burns in 1998, Fulcrum Point creates dynamic new programming with an emphasis on cross-cultural exchanges, diverse voices, improvisation, technology, and collaboration, embracing a broad range of experimental styles and multimedia content. Fulcrum Point empowers artists and communities to create new art music that enriches people’s lives and brings about a more empathic world.
