Golden Hour specials end at 8 PM but live music continues until 10 PM/10:30PM in the The Sanctuary

About: 

Christian Yi is a musician, educator, music director, and freelance worker in the Chicagoland area. Since a young age, he developed his passion for performing and teaching the arts. Growing up in local music programs in schools and churches, he eventually transitioned to becoming a full-time musician and music educator. 

Christian is a pianist, organist, and keyboardist in a wide variety of musical settings.

He regularly performs at various venues in the Chicagoland area, which have included: The United Center, Andy’s Jazz Club, Willow Creek Community Church, The Jazz Showcase, Freedom Hall, Tavern on Lagrange, and more. 

Christian is known for his musical diversity and his very soulful approach to piano, keyboard, and organ performance. He plays a wide variety of genres, styles, and compositions in many settings. 

Christian is a recent graduate, having earned his Bachelor’s in Music Performance (B.M.) from Northern Illinois University. He studied under legendary educator and pianist, Reggie Thomas. Through his education, he was the recipient of the 2021 Ron Modell Jazz Scholarship. He also studied with other faculty members, including Marlene Rosenberg, Tom Garling, Dr. David Maki, and Dr. Jeong-Soo Kim.
