"Lee England, Jr is the Michael Jordan of the violin" - Michael Jordan

Lee England, Jr., the Soul Violinist, hails from Waukegan, IL. His mother is an educator, and his father was an engineer at the elementary school where they met. He attended a local Baptist church with a long line of “singing preachers” It was under their tutelage that he developed his vocal talents in the church. 

In 2008, he earned two Bachelor of Arts, one in Music Education the other in Performance (the Violin). In addition, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Audio Engineering from Southern Illinois. He taught music in the Chicago Public School System for over two years. In 2009, England cut his elementary school teaching career short to appear on MTV’s “Making the Band” where his performance was ‘otherworldly,” and the judges created a category for non-traditional instruments. 

He has appeared as a guest performer on Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Mo’Nique Show, Lexus Verses and Flow, and performed in concert with Stevie Wonder and Babyface. Lee has opened for rappers Ludacris, Trey Songz, Jermaine Dupri, and Akon.

Lee England, Jr. is a Jordan Brand Ambassador. Over the course of his career, he has performed in halftime shows in over 26 arenas. In 2016 and 2017 Lee played the theme song live for Shinsuke Nakamura at The Rising Sun Fest. The video of his performance has amassed over 15 million combined views.
