About:
The Blueshift Big Band is a 17-piece jazz orchestra led by drummer Joel Baer and guitarist Chris Parsons that plays original arrangements based on jazz standards, blues, American songbook tunes, pop music and video games. Their debut record was released in November 2020 on JeruJazz records. WDCB’s Paul Abella says:
“Chicago’s jazz scene is blessed to have quite a few fantastic big bands, and if the debut album from the Blueshift Big Band is any indication, then 2021 has brought us another one.”
