CAIC's Lieder Lounge series continues March 27 with a recital featuring CAIC Vocal Chamber Music Fellow, mezzo-soprano Anna Laurenzo. The CAIC Vocal Chamber Music Fellowship provides educational, performance, and entrepreneurial opportunities to select classically trained Chicago-based singers and pianists. Each season, up to four singers and up to two pianists are chosen for this 30-week residency with Collaborative Arts Institute of Chicago. In addition to returning to CAIC for a second season, Laurenzo has recently made debuts with Chicago Opera Theater, Fort Worth Opera, and the Lincoln Center Theater. CAIC co-founder and Director of Education, pianist Shannon McGinnis joins as Laurenzo’s recital partner for this program, which will feature songs by Vitěszlava Kaprálová, Ruth Crawford Seeger, Clara Schumann, Fanny Hensel, and Franz Joseph Haydn.

CAIC’s 21 | 22 season comes to a close May 15 with mezzo-soprano Clara Osowski and pianist Tyler Wottrich. The duo have won prizes at many international art song competitions, including Thomas Quasthoff’s Das Lied Competition in Heidelberg, Germany, the Wigmore Hall / Kohn Foundation Song Competition in London, and the Concours Musical International de Montréal. The pair will perform songs byDominick Argento, Johannes Brahms, Franz Liszt, Franz Schubert, and Rodolfo Halffter.
