Urban Rhythm Band has been rooted in Chicago's musical world for decades, playing regularly at beloved music venues and local festivals across the city. Performing a mix of Jazz, Blues, Rock, Reggae, Haitian Kompa as well as Traditional Caribbean and African beats. They bring a contagious, danceable beat with lyrics to uplift the soul and raise consciousness. As real as it gets.

Adam Gottlieb & OneLove are a Chicago-based Fusion band serving songs for the revolution. They are ordinary people fighting for survival, justice, and abundance for all, delivering upbeat Reggae music that crosses into Blues, Folk, Rock, Funk, Hip Hop, Latin, and more. They played a South by Southwest showcase in 2022 and will be releasing their newest single "When the People Ride," this month!

UGOCHI brings over two decades of experience in the literary and music industry, and has gained quite a notable reputation for her solo career and collaborations. This Chicago native is an international singing sensation who has been performing her original style of song and word poetics since she began her musical journey. She has performed with acclaimed artists such as Common Malik Yusef, J. Ivy, Eric Benet, Michael McDermott, Edwin McCain, Maxi Priest, Umphreys McGee, John Legend and Femi Kuti.

Vision in the Rhythm, from Chicago, brings a new school reggae-funk sound with a psychedelic indie-rock feel to tune you up to the Universe.  The band was started by brothers Pat Williams (Vocal/Guitar), John Williams (Bass) and Mike Williams (Drums) and are joined by Tim Williams (Saxophone) and Connor Marks (Guitar).

Slacky J is a DJ and host of the Reggae Vibes show in Chicago on WLUW 88.7 FM (Fridays 8-11pm). In 2009 Slacky J was awarded lifetime achievement by teamster promotion.  Also in 2011 Slacky J was awarded by the Chicago Music Awards' Best DJ In The Land and has continuously been nominated for the past 9 years for the best selector in the land.

Billy Tuggle is a Chicagoan; a performance poet; slam champion; teaching artist; HipHop culturalist; and an Afrofuturist with his 3rd collection of poems, 'A Tree Falls In The Hood' coming later this year.

Dr. Danielle Roper is from Kingston, Jamaica. She holds a Phd in Spanish and Portuguese (2015) and an M.A in Performance Studies (2009) from New York University. Her interests include Performance Studies, Critical Race Theory, Visual Cultural Studies, Caribbean Feminism and Queer Theory in 20th-and 21st-century Latin America and the Caribbean. Roper appears frequently on local radio and television shows across the Caribbean as a pundit and expert on current affairs in Latin America and queer activism. She was also the Thomas J.
