About:

SOUL REFRESH

Fresh Chicago Music, Healing Vibes

Soul Refresh is a concert for lyrical healing and Chicago love. Bringing together an outstanding lineup of Chicago artists, we will take a night to celebrate our creativity, beauty, and resilience as individuals and communities. We’ll gather in the magnificent sanctuary hall of the Epiphany Center for the Arts on Chicago’s near west side, where the drinks are strong and the spiritual energy is even stronger! We hope you can join us for an unforgettable night.

Special “Soul Refresh” cocktails will be available at the bar for this night only in honor of the event.

Elephant Rebellion is a collective of artists and activists dedicated to empowering communities through the power of arts and education. They began organizing in 2012 after their friend and fellow artist/activist John Vietnam Nguyen passed away. He left behind a legacy of inspiring change in yourself and your community through positive action and self determination.

Since their inception, Elephant Rebellion has grown to become an organization that has been giving back to their community through music, dance, poetry, educational workshops and much more. They currently organize at Bridgeview Bank in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago, IL.

Damon A. Williams is a movement builder, organizer, hip-hop performing artist, educator and media maker from the south side of Chicago, Cohost of AirGo Radio, and co-founder of Respair Productions. He is the co-director of the #LetUsBreathe Collective, an artistic activist organization birthed out of supply trips to support the Ferguson uprising in resistance to the murder of Mike Brown. #LetUsBreathe continue to organize direct actions and community enrichment events throughout the streets of Chicago and in their movement building community center The #BreathingRoom Space, with the mission of utilizing cultural production and popular education to redistribute power and resources, eradicate systemic violence, and transform inequity. Damon is also a Community and Cultural Organizer at the Chicago Torture Justice Center.

Jovan Landry is a Chicago-based multidisciplinary artist. "1/3 Filmmaker, 1/3 Photographer, and 1/3 Emcee," she captivates audiences with articulate lyrics focused on self-empowerment and overcoming obstacles. Jovan's magnetic stage presence commands attention, leaving crowds in awe. Her accolades include receiving the WeWork Creator Awards grant to create the groundbreaking all-women/femme-produced hip-hop album, Synergy, now archived at the Universal Hip-Hop Museum. Jovan and her collections have been featured on ABC-7's Windy City Live and the Women in Hip-Hop Conference. Today, Jovan continues to shine through vocal features, performances, self-produced singles, and producing music for fellow artists and dancers.

Adam Gottlieb & OneLove are a Chicago-based Fusion band serving songs for the revolution since 2014. They are ordinary people fighting for survival, justice, and abundance for all, delivering upbeat music that blends Reggae, Blues, Folk, Rock, Funk, Hip Hop, Latin, and more. Their 2020 album “All of You” was nominated for “Best Local Album” in the Chicago Reader’s Best of Chicago awards. In 2022 they performed live at South by Southwest at the AEMMP Records Showcase, “A Lil Taste of the Chi III.” Their latest single and music video, “When the People Ride,” uplifts the movement for police accountability and abolition. This year they hosted “Soul Rebels 2023: A Concert Honoring the Life and Legacy of Bob Marley” at Epiphany Center for the Arts.

The mission of Adam Gottlieb & OneLove is to unite people around the movement for a new, more just world, using music that expresses the revolutionary spirit of our times.
