About Frank Russell:

Renowned Chicago bass guitarist Frank Russell recent recipient of the prestigious 2020 Jeff Award for Best Original Music In A Play. In collaboration with the legendary Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Frank is currently in the studio now recording an album in tribute to the legendary group and they will be taking part singing on the project. Frank also is the only bass guitarist to grace the cover of Chicago Jazz Magazine. Frank has performed with Ramsey Lewis, Wallace Roney, Freddie Hubbard, Alphonse Mouzon, Ken Chaney, Henry Johnson  and many more. Grammy Award winning writer Neil Tesser wrote I can’t imagine a more suitable artist for a project like this not only because Frank is such an astute chronicler of the bass guitars evolution in jazz but also because he can illustrate every stylistic development along the way.
