About:
The Flannau Duo ( Flens+Hannau ) is a dynamic, new music loving, tour-de-force ensemble combining piano, percussion, electronics, improvisation, and absurdism.
The duo first performed together as part of the 2021 Thirsty Ears Festival. Shortly after, the duo played for multiple online streaming concerts in Fall 2021. Now for the 2023/2024 season, the Flannau Duo is excited to be performing a series of live concerts in the Chicago area and beyond exploring a multitude of sounds, styles, and moods.
For this very special concert, Flannau Duo will be performing the icy, quiet, and surreal music of Wandelweiser composer Michael Pisaro, "A mist is a collection of points". Drawn out in 3 parts and spanning over an hour, they will take you on a journey in the beautiful sanctuary room of Epiphany in the dead of winter.
