Born in Lima, Peru, Jose Aleman’s deep research on mythology – its origins, popular culture, sociology, psychology, history, and religious and spiritual ideas, are revealed in his bold series “Totems and Angels.” Through his monumental work and use of multiple painting techniques that suggest motion and fragmentation, combined with Western symbols and religious iconography, Aleman explores humanity’s connection to God through diverse vantage points.
