Alfredo Rodriguez & Pedrito Martinez Duo to Headline at
Epiphany Center for the Arts on Wednesday, October 12 Norberto Guerra & Rena Avila will open for the Afro-Cuban Musicians
in a must-see performance at the landmark venue’s Epiphany Hall
Born into a musical family, pianist Rodriguez was trained in Cuba’s rigorous conservatory world. Percussionist Martinez (Sting, Paul Simon) honed his craft on the Havana streets where he was raised on local Afro-Cuban music. As a result of their differences, Rodriguez and Martinez share a natural chemistry that makes for a galvanizing musical experience when they come together. Their Quincy Jones-produced duo album, Duologue (2019 via Mack Avenue Records), finds the pair exploring a range of moods and influences, from Cuban classics to collaborative original compositions to a number of unexpected favorites.
Doors open at 5:00 p.m. for Golden Hour with Vivian Garcia, where guests can enjoy free live music and food & drink specials in Epiphany’s courtyard before the ticketed event.
