Daun Suh
Useless (2024)
Acrylic and pastel on panel
6” X 6”
$500

A cross-shaped mark, incised into the panel, emerges as a sharp line of light against a dark field. Upon closer inspection, the black background reveals subtle shifts in color and tone, suggesting an abstract space where light infiltrates darkness. The surface is composed of layered materials, acrylic brushstrokes overlaid with soft pastel, creating a tactile contrast between sharpness and softness, density and airiness. The interplay of texture and light activates the surface, situating the work between material presence and intangible atmosphere.
