Recalibration

Guild Room

Sunday, September 27, 2026 -  Sunday, December 13th, 2026

For the past twenty years I have been a professional photography printer using Epson inkjet printers.  When the massive ink cartridges need to be replaced there remains roughly 10% of ink which I have been saving for the past ten years.  I use this Epson ink that I use in my day job to make abstract color studies on watercolor paper in my free time in the evenings or on weekends.  Sometimes the study is complete in one attempt, sometimes up to five attempts with the same sheet of paper are needed for it to be complete and sometimes the back becomes the front for it to be a completed study.

Aron Gent is an artist, gallerist, and professional printmaker residing in Chicago, IL. He received a degree from Columbia College Chicago and has been a lecturer and educator at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, the Hyde Park Art Center and Columbia College Chicago. Gent is the founder of the print studio and commercial gallery DOCUMENT that recently opened a second location in Lisbon, Portugal.  In addition he serves on the board of directors for the Society for Contemporary Art(SCA), The New Art Dealers Alliance(NADA) and was a founding board member for Chicago-based organization ACRE in 2010.
