Mary King organizes her life around art: making, looking, reading, thinking, discussing. She believes in supporting other artists and that art makes the world a better place. King’s solo exhibitions in Chicago include Governors State University, The Center on Halsted, Woman Made Gallery, Artemesia, and The Hyde Park Art Center. Her most recent Chicago solo exhibition was at 65 Grand. She has also exhibited her work in 4 solo shows at Denise Bibro Fine Art in New York. The New York Times and The Chicago Tribune have reviewed her work. King had artist residencies at Kimmel Nelson Harding in Nebraska City, Nebraska, and at The Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont. She holds a BFA from The University of Chicago and a MA from Western Michigan University. Her studio is in Kenwood in Chicago.
