STORIES Y DESEOS

Chase Gallery

October 11, 2024 to December 6, 2024

Stories y Deseos delves into a complex space between the stories we share openly and those we choose to keep hidden. This exhibition features vibrant oil paintings of various sizes as well as mixed media and digital installations. Together, these works encourage viewers to reflect on how different narratives expand.

Cultural Hybridity and Personal Reflection
At the heart of this exhibition lies the exploration of cultural hybridity and Magical Realism, a theme that permeates the works and practices of both artists. Separately, the pieces reflect the experience of navigating between two worlds, where reality intertwines with memory and fantasy; shown in conversation, the works expose and illuminate a layering process—where elements are occluded, excavated, and reimagined—mirroring a broader human journey of personal growth and identity formation. Through this lens, the artworks invite viewers to a deeper reflection on the complexities of belonging.
