The Heart of Chicago is a layered, resin-encased anatomical heart that embodies the essence of Chicago’s multicultural identity. Each separated layer represents the intricate and diverse struggles, passions, and collective strength of its people. This piece delves into the emotional fabric of a city where love, resilience, and unity intersect. In line with the overarching theme of “The Art of Emotional Intelligence,” the artwork invites viewers to explore the depth of their own connections to community and place, celebrating the powerful bonds that make Chicago’s heart beat strong.

ARTIST BIO:
Born on December 6, 1985, Justin Suico is a visual artist from Chicago, Illinois, known for pioneering the Art of Emotional Intelligence movement. His work delves into the emotional disconnection prevalent in modern society, encouraging empathy and deeper human connections through a unique mixed-media approach inspired by neuroscience, psychology, and mental health. Suico’s art has been showcased in venues worldwide, including Miami’s Art Basel, the London Bridge’s Boomer Gallery, and Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. He has curated impactful events such as COCO Miami during Art Basel and popups for Hollywood’s elite. Suico’s contributions extend beyond the art world, with involvement in charitable efforts like Art for Life Chicago and Karam, supporting Syrian refugee children. His global exhibitions and philanthropic work cement his status as a visionary artist pushing the boundaries of contemporary art.
