Chasing Light
Chasing Light
The Sacristy Gallery
February 4, 2022 to March 19, 2022
With Chasing Light, Sheri Rush presents a new body of work that examines how the COVID-19 pandemic informed her process and helped to redefine her. Before the pandemic, her large-scale paintings were blurred by movement and transparent reflections, an analogy to how we run through life and experience nature through lenses and interfaces. In Chasing Light, the view snaps into place and responds to the stillness of being isolated in a headspace created by the pandemic, a space that allowed Rush to examine and process recent emotional and literal experiences.
