I chose the images that I did for the art show at the Epiphany Art Center for their visual impact and capability of expressing what I want to say. The theme of Identity in my small collection takes center stage and each piece contributes to the expression of that theme.

I am a very visual person and photography was a natural path of expression for me. I write as well, but often struggle with words. One picture can visualize an entire page, although even a collection as small as mine needs a written accompaniment to further clarify the role each photograph plays. For example, the photograph Marshall Field Clock represents Time, visualizing the passage of Time and the many years it took to come to my vocation of photography, to realize an old dream and make it come true. North Pond in Winter expresses how barren my life felt before I took up photography and Blooming Lily represents how I am blooming as an individual and an artist. The photo of my church represents my faith, an integral part of my identity, and the photograph of my camera and lens kit shows how vital my photography is to my identity as an artist and an individual.

I hope all who visit the center and the show enjoy my small collection and I hope they can take away some insight from it.
