About:
CHAI Collaborative Ensemble (CCE) concludes their 2023-24 Season with works that offer brief windows into diverse musical perspectives of four distinctive composers of classical music from the 20th and 21st centuries. Jenni Brandon's Sea Quartet is a colorful tribute to the beauty of the ocean and all the creatures and ecosystems that dwell within it. It was commissioned by the L.A. Musical Salon as part of my composer residency with the Vientos Trio from 2008-2009, and was inspired by her living near the Pacific Ocean. Heitor Villa-Lobos' Trio for Oboe, Clarinet, and Bassoon offers a fusion between various forms of traditional Brazilian rhythms and music and the classical wind trio. Villa-Lobos gravitated towards the raw sounds of wind instruments, and indulged in a variety harmonic clashes, rhythmic dexterity, and dynamic extremes in this work. Gernot Wolfgang's Windows is a pensive yet flowing piece for clarinet, bassoon and piano. In the composer's words, "the main theme of this 12 minute composition in one movement is presented in a variety of musical environments throughout the piece. In an allegorical sense, it is as if the listener was walking down a hallway lined with windows, periodically catching a view of the exterior. The outside world always stays the same, but the perspective of the viewer/listener changes from window to window... a chain of parallax views." Valerie Coleman's Trio Toccata was written in the summer of 2014, and equally showcases the virtuosity of the oboe, bassoon, and piano. In Coleman's words, it is "a lyrical, high paced romp that is heavily jazz influenced."

About Cult like:
Cult like is brand new to the music scene, however, each of the band members is not. Each playing in different projects over the years, the guys eventually came together just before the release of the EP, “Pretty Shore”. The band blends together poppy and alternative elements, but also makes whatever they feel like given everyone in the band has a different musical background. The band consists of Brice Lanham (Drums), Mission Marcis (Bass), and Victor Roa (Guitar/Vocals).

About:
Converging innovative musical writing with a passion for improvisation, Retrospect is a new emerging band on the Chicago jazz scene. Rooted in the voice of American music, the band's journey began as a senior recital band at Columbia College Chicago. This group boasts five instrumentalists, with composer and saxophonist Ben Jossi, Jackson Arbogast on guitar, Miles Pretel on keys and piano, Ethan Davila on bass, and Hugh Maxey on drums, the lineup was set.
Their music is a captivating blend of past and present, where jazz's improvisational spirit dances with Latin rhythms, hip hop beats, soulful blues, and a sprinkle of American roots. This unique fusion began during Ben's senior recital aptly titled "Retrospect." Soon, they headlined at Manifest, Columbia's spring arts festival, under the name "Ben Jossi's Retro Collective."
But it was their recording at Sessions@33, a Columbia production akin to a tiny desk concert, that solidified their identity as Retrospect. With some new members that brought a powerful sound, the name stuck. For Retrospect, their music identifies with jazz's limitless possibilities and adds to the allure of genre-blending. It goes beyond music; it's storytelling through the musical language this group performs with.

A night of transportive neoclassical soundscapes by two visionary composers.
Gregory Allison creates with a single violin a sound that travels across great landscapes. He has toured the world with violin in hand and is endlessly inspired by the instrument’s journey around the globe, especially it’s use in South Indian Classical music. His live performance blends the Indian Classical melodic improvisation with his classical sensibility as a film composer, offering the listener a sonic journey through time and space.
He will be performing his 2021 debut album Portal in its entirety, along with new compositions for amplified violin and string quartet.
Gregory recently moved back to Portland after 5 years living in LA, where he started the record label and recording studio Holy Volcano. He has released four albums on the label: one solo, two with collaborator Tristan de Liege, and as producer for the debut album from songwriter Ella Luna. He is currently collaborating with electronic composers to create ReWorked versions of the music from his debut solo record Portal.
Slow Meadow is Houston multi-instrumentalist Matt Kidd. Kidd's releases as Slow Meadow have been celebrated by the New York Observer, NPR's Stephen Thompson, Echoes' John Diliberto, and who sampled Lachrymosia for the platinum-selling song on his debut album, FREE 6LACK. In 2022, Kidd provided the original soundtrack to the film, "My Mind & Me".
Two years following 2017’s Costero, Slow Meadow returned with its third full-length album Happy Occident, a collection of textured ambient melodies. Fueled by the anxiety derivative of modern life and the frenetic and often uncertain state of these ever-changing times, Happy Occident provides music for reflection. A soundtrack to life’s contemplative moments, and an experience akin to mindfulness meditation.
In 2021, Slow Meadow is back with Upstream Dream, its first wholly new music since 2020’s By the Ash Tree, which bookends a period of creative output that introduced Kidd’s vision of calming and meditative ambient music.
With a foundation of piano, string orchestration, and an ever-evolving electronic palette, Slow Meadow has traversed the borders of neoclassical and minimalist electronics with Upstream Dream, delivering a deeply personal and transportive experience that speaks directly to the ebbs and flows and mundanity and marvels of life. Cassiopeia is a classical and alternative band that formed in the fall of the past year. The Chicago-based group is comprised of 3 classically trained musicians who use their time together to reminisce and explore through their music.
The group features pianist and producer June Thomas, vocalist Kensey Kendall, guitar player Alice Avery, and violinist Trinity Clay. The group met through college and their mutual love for the arts. Cassiopeia’s songs form spontaneously and intuitively. The members each bring a different element of beauty to every composition; June’s piano provides an elegant structure, Trinity’s instrumentation adds a layer of melody and harmony, and Kensey’s lyrics charge every song with emotion and memory. Together, They create music made of sorrow and cautious hope.

Flamencodanza is a duo collaboration that started in 2021 at the Avignon Festival in France. Different elements fuse together in a unique manner producing an award-winning show with beauty and inspiration. Elements of Flamenco, Brazilian music and jazz give the music a variety of colours. Aylin Bayaz, contemporary flamenco dancer, trained at the Amor de Dios studios, performed in “tablaos flamencos” in Madrid, and completed MA Dance at the Institute of the Arts Barcelona in 2018. Her duo show “Flamencodanza” -Best show of dance and physical theatre, Hollywood Fringe 2022, was premiered in Avignon, France 2021 and has toured internationally since.
Raul Mannola, Buenos Aires 1963, is a flamenco guitarist with a jazz background, he studied with flamenco guitar master Manolo Sanlúcar. He has dedicated more than 30 years to the study of flamenco guitar and has released 10 solo albums. He worked as a flamenco guitar teacher at the Madrid Conservatory of Music for 10 years. www.eflamencodanza.com

About Periwink:
Periwink is an emerging Chicago-based group that does primarily instrumental music with influences from Lofi-jazz beats and Video game music to Neo-Soul and Funk. This group has previously performed under the name “Kyle J-E Trio Experiment” before adding flautist Caylee Wells to the lineup and changing the name to Periwink. The group also features Gabe Guthrie on drum set and Nikolas Ballut on electric bass. Periwink also likes to feature different artists on their live sets, bringing different vocal artists or instrumentalists to add excitement to the shows with unique approaches to cover songs and new versions of original tunes.
Their music often touches on nostalgic emotions, from the warm and fuzzy feeling of childhood memories to the bittersweet longing for a past that can never be recaptured. If you’re looking for music that will transport you to a different time and place, then Periwink is the artist for you. They have released a few singles including “Light Night Snacks” and they have a lot more coming in 2024 with more original music, covers, and captivating live shows.

About Emily Chloe Quinn Ensemble:
The Emily Chloe Quinn Ensemble, currently a duo, is composed of Emily Chloe Quinn and Paul Vincent. Emily is a singer/songwriter who performs in the Chicago area. She plays piano and has a Master’s Degree in Oboe Performance from the University of Cincinnati-Conservatory of Music. Her EP, “My Own Mountain,” released in November of 2022, received critical acclaim in a review in New City Music Magazine in February of 2023 titled Sly Subjugation: A Review of Emily Chloe Quinn’s “My Own Mountain” by Robert Rodi. She recently released a 3-song EP on Bandcamp in November of 2023, entitled "Wave of Sound" and continues to write and perform music regularly. She is performing in the Chicago area with her bass player, Paul Vincent, and they are recording a full length album. Their style has been aptly described as “Baroque Pop” with piano-centric arpeggios, and her pointed, story-like lyrics speak volumes to the soul. With the new edition of the mellotron, the duo's modern, chamber-like sound is enhanced.

About:
IRIS is a jazz quintet comprised of Arman Sangalang, Kirby Fellis, Austyn Menk, Morgan Turner, and Paul Barrilles. The group was born out of five peers’ mutual desire to fuse jazz music’s historic subgenres, such as hard bop and post-bop, with a modern aesthetic. Their compositions are a reflection of their musical upbringing, having been influenced by musicians like Mulgrew Miller, Roy Hargrove, Wayne Shorter and Walter Smith III.
IRIS has toured throughout the Midwest performing at venues including Cliff Bells (MI), Merriman’s Playhouse (IN), Jazz Central Studios (MN), Andy’s Jazz Club, The Whistler and Fulton Street Street Collective (IL). In summer 2022, IRIS was one of four groups in the United States selected to participate in the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Academy.
Saxophonist and composer Arman Sangalang has been garnering attention as an up-and-coming jazz musician in the Chicago music scene. He has performed at major festivals including the Hyde Park Jazz Festival, Clifford Brown Jazz Festival and Chicago Jazz Festival. Arman’s debut record “Quartet” featuring Dave Miller, Matt Ulery and Devin Drobka was released on Calligram Records in August 2023.
A captivating Chicago-based trombonist, educator and composer, Kirby Fellis has a passion and gratitude for music that has allowed him to perform at venues such as DePauw Jazz Festival and Chicago Jazz Festival. Kirby has played with many great artists including Kurt Elling, Darius Rucker, Terrell Stafford, and Etienne Charles. Kirby is currently on faculty as the Jazz Ensemble Director at Harper College.
Austyn Vaughn Menk is a pianist, organist, composer, and educator from Le Center, Minnesota currently living outside of Chicago, Illinois. A former student of Prof. Reggie Thomas and Dr. Masayoshi Ishikawa, Austyn has had the great privilege of playing with artists including Mardra Thomas, Lenard Simpson, Guy King, Tatum Langley, and the Blueshift Big Band. Austyn currently serves on staff at Northern Illinois University as Music Admissions Coordinator.
Morgan Turner is a Chicago-based bassist and composer. She received her Bachelor of Music from Northern Illinois University, where she had the opportunity to study privately with professors Marlene Rosenberg, Geof Bradfield, and Bobby Broom. Morgan was selected to be a part of the Women in Jazz Organization 2023 mentorship program, during which she was mentored by composer Ayn Inserto.
Paul Barrilles is a professional jazz musician based in Chicago. He can be found playing with notable jazz musicians including Adam Larson, Geof Bradfield, Clark Sommers, Julius Tucker, and Ethan Philion. Barrilles holds degrees in jazz studies from Northern Illinois University (BM) and DePaul University (MM). In addition, Barrilles has studied with today’s master drummers such as Kenny Washington, Gregory Hutchinson, Dana Hall, and Kendrick Scott.

His artistic love of traditional jazz and funky bass lines helps to create a powerful musical voyage. Micah has grown in Chicago’s jazz scene by participating in The Jazz Institute of Chicago’s Jazz Ambassador program and Ernest Dawkins Young Masters program, while studying under Chicago greats such as Junius Paul, Vincent Davis, Justin Dillard, Michael Manson, Charles Heath, Kahil El Zabar, Robert Bobby Irving iii and Corey Wilkes helped to shape his diverse sound.
Leading his band across the Chicago area performing at Dorians, Andy’s Jazz Club, The Jazz Showcase, The Promontory, Bronzeville Winery, Millennium Park and the Hyde Park Jazz Festival as well as being a sideman to international artist such as Vincent Davis, Dee Alexander, Ernest Dawkins, Marquis Hill, Isaiah Collier, Christopher McBride and Makaya McCraven. Micah has released his debut album entitled “Becoming” that is on all streaming platforms.
Micah Collier brings a new resonance to contemporary jazz. Bridging the classic sounds of McCoy Tyner with the electric sounds of Marcus Miller, as well as his love of Chicago House Music to create his unique sound of Jazz Fusion. He expands the understanding of jazz to be inclusive of other genres to create music that feels good to the soul.
About ZN:
ZN, a compassionate Chicago-bred artist with a labyrinthian set of disciplines, has been musically inclined since childhood. Beginning as a drummer during his toddler years, he grew to eventually become a Nationally-Ranked Jazz Trumpeter in adolescence, receiving awards & mentorship from luminary musicians & institutions including Wynton Marsalis & the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra among others. Now a DJ, Producer, Pianist, Composer & Creative Writer, he has been blessed with the space to convey his pensive and poetic artistic stylings through this multitude of mediums.

About the performers:
Sunny Haelstorm: Sunny Haelstorm is a performing & teaching artist and model who has been electrifying the Chicago burlesque community since 2017. With 15+ years of dance training and performance experience, Sunny delivers striking performances that highlight their passion, musicality and versatility. This "Windy City Whirlwind" has appeared in numerous shows throughout the Midwest, including Jeezy's Juke Joint 2019 and Dirty Show 2024.
Kazmo Universe: KazMo is a teacher, poet, activist, and music performer from Chicago who intentionally creates to be an advocate for the Black community , LGBTQ+community and Women. In 2022, KazMo joined the main ensemble of the burlesque troupe Body Confidence for Queens, where They continue to learn, create and perform from theaters, local clubs, music venues and festivals.
Lisa Sweets: Lisa Sweets is an actor, poet, and sparkly showpony from Chicago who found burlesque as a way to express herself and feel free in her body. She often performs alongside her group The Bang Bangs throughout the city, including 2023’s Show Me Burlesque festival.
Morteisha Addams: Morteisha Addams, the Vampiress of Chicago, the Gothicc Showghoul, the woman, the demon, the vampire. She made her burlesque debut in September 2022 at Plan 9 Burlesque. Since then, the vamp has been making her rounds along the city. Performing for Sindy Vicious’ Nightshade, Sio Bast’s Obscura, Strapped, and Willy LaQueue’s Delirium. Her expertise lies in the darkly inclined. For one hell of a good time (emphasis on hell) Morteisha Addams is your glamour ghoul for all bloody intents and purposes.
Juniper Perle: Juniper Perle is a foxy temptress reigning from the Southside of Chicago who began her burlesque journey in 2018. As an erotic laborer and new parent, she found her political home within the sex workers’ rights and reproductive freedom movements, where she discovered her path in advocacy and the curiosity to explore herself as an artist. Juniper reenters the burlesque world full of vitality, newness, and with the same seduction.

About Paige and the Kizers:
Paige and the Kizers is a live band product of the original music written by the band’s creator and lead singer Paige Kizer. The group embraces authenticity and human connection through live performance. Paige and the Kizers have played several Chicago live venues such as Reggies, Cubby Bear, Montrose Saloon, Gallery Cabaret and Epiphany. Every member brings a spark of creativity and bright spirit to every show.
About Chan:
Chan is a rhythmic phonic musical artist from the city of Chicago who specializes in taps, contralto/ baritone phonation and improvisation. Chan strives to investigate the unending capabilities taps have as a percussive form and contributor to the rhythmic fabric of music. Chan Band is a collaboration between Chan, Erez Dessel, Tyler Wagner, and Daniel Gayden who execute these possibilities in the Black vernaculars of jazz, rap, and rock through originals, historical jazz and taps material, classic tunes, and exploratory improvisation. Chan Band has played Cole’s Bar, Burlington, California Clipper, and Golden Dagger. Chan's life long background in rhythmic improvisation, devised theatre, creative writing, jazz, and taps all inform Chan's vision to help reinstall tap dance as a core part of the vernacular in jazz music. Chan is forever grateful to be able to say they have been mentored and/or taught by some of the best in the literary, film/tv, music, tap dance, and theatrical fields. About Tommy Bravos:
Tommy Bravos is like no other. His creations exist at the intersection of fantasy, nature, philosophy and reality, bringing audiences to deeper emotional experiences. Contemplative music taps into all the sources of energy that speak to him, including his Greek heritage, exploring what can be made through the factors from which humans form identity. Earnest lyrics and profound concepts define his music, woven together through lush chords and the allure of pop melodies. His latest project, Everything is Growing, Am I? which celebrates the changing nature of human identity, will be released on June 14th, celebrating it with a show here at Epiphany Center for the Arts.
Prior to this EP, Tommy released Adonis and a subsequent Remix Album. This project explored the various ways romance and anxiety can affect us, resulting in finding beauty through the types of suffering we endure. Get familiar with his music prior to the show!
About Yna:
Yna is a 23-year-old ambient indie producer and songwriter currently based in Chicago, Illinois. Drawing from their personal experiences and her drive to experiment with layers of synths, guitars, and bells, Yna’s lyricism and ethereal soundscapes are integral parts of her signature, cinematic sound. Media outlets describe Yna’s songs as “emotionally evocative music that makes you feel like the main character in an Oscar-winning tearjerker.” Driven by capturing their struggles with anxiety, relationships, and identity, Yna shows herself to the world through the words they sing. Yna wants listeners to live her own experiences through her music, also hoping that her songs can bring others comfort from the struggles they may be dealing with.
Raised in Southern California, Yna started singing at the age of four and taught herself how to play the guitar and piano at the age of nine. After releasing a number of singles, such as “unaligned” and “south loop,” Yna moved to Chicago in 2021 to pursue a career in music. Since moving to Chicago, Yna has made a name for herself in both Illinois and California. In 2023, Yna formed their band, Yna and the Seasons, which played 15 shows throughout the year. Yna and the Seasons have performed at prominent venues in Chicago such as Schubas Tavern, Beat Kitchen and Sleeping Village as well as Chapman University in Orange, California.
Currently, Yna is working on their debut studio album, set for release in the summer of 2024.

CoryaYo is a Chicago, US based Producer, Musician, Sound Healer and Visionary Artist. Originally from Spencer, Iowa, born (Cory Altenhofen). Cory is known for prolifically producing instrumental albums of hypnotic jazz influenced hip hop beats as well as providing organic meditative soundscapes as a sound healer and ambient musician. Cory has two rap groups under the names Strangers Of Necessity & Heavily Indicated and has production credits for artists including Isaiah Rashad, Audio Push, Price, G-Eazy, Vic Spencer, Rap Ferreira, Loyle Carner, Kota The Friend, Akira Rae & more. He is also a visionary artist creating many sacred paintings, drawings and murals.

About:
Jace McCloy is a professional Baritone singer-songwriter from Lansing, Michigan. He is a 2015 alumni of Lansing Catholic High School, and he graduated in 2020 from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Music (Primary Instrument: Voice).
His time at CMU was nothing short of impressive. He participated in Chamber Singers, was an invited soloist at university-sponsored events, and even starred in university operas and musicals! His most notable roles consist of The Mikado in The Mikado (2018), Bishop/Ensemble in Shrek: The Musical (2018), Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd (2019), Henry Ford in Ragtime (2019), and Don Pedro in Beatrice & Benedict (2020). During the summer of 2019, Jace was also cast in the summer stock season for Dunes Summer Theatre in Michigan City, Indiana. Here, he had the pleasure of playing Luther Billis in South Pacific and Lester/Billy Bob Blood in Hansel and Gretel Meet the Swamp Witch.
After graduating, Jace moved to Chicago for three years, where he got his start with Opera Inter Alia and Chicago Cabaret Professionals. He has worked with the likes of Susan Arjmand, Stewart Thompson, Frieda Lee, Anne & Mark Burnell, Carla Gordon, Hilary Feldman, and many others. Everyone mentioned played a part in his successful performances, including his CCP debut in Passing the Torch in April, 2022! Jace also had the pleasure of working with the incredible Woodstock Playhouse Cast of 2022 in Woodstock, New York! During this summer stock season, he played Reverend Shaw in Footloose, Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast, Selsdon in Noises Off, Herr Schultz in Cabaret, and George Wilson in Gatsby: An American Musical. Upon returning to Chicago, Jace was cast as Steve/Peter Understudy in Beverly Arts Center’s production of The Christmas Schooner (2022), which was an incredible experience.
While he has had an amazing run thus far, 2023 was the year that pushed Jace’s career even further. He had successful performances in Red Hour Cabaret in February and 100 Years of Disney in July, on top of releasing his highly anticipated album, Development in March, which shows his abilities as a songwriter. In August, he debuted a new song, “New Life”, from his upcoming album, Baptism. It was this song that helped him win the Denise Tomasello Scholarship in the 2023 Emerging Artists Showcase, which he is incredibly thankful for.
In his debut show, Acceptance, Jace paints a unique picture with a mix of Pop/Jazz songs, Musical Theatre pieces, and original works. He will be joined by Jeff English on piano, Kevin Schulz on bass, and Steve Thompson on drums.

The Fulton Chamber Players is a classical music ensemble uniting world-class artists to present exceptional programs. Our members are passionate about bringing the highest quality performances to all audiences as well as inspiring the next generation of musicians. The Fulton Chamber Players operates under the aegis of the Fulton Music Society, a nonprofit dedicated to transforming what music means in the 21st century by nurturing thoughtful, well-rounded students through dedicated music study. We are working to connect the dots between student life and the professional world by emphasizing skills and experiences that translate beyond their instruments. Through Fulton’s programs, young musicians will be ready to lead their generation in any field they choose.
About the performers:
Violinist Addison Teng is a sought-after performer and teacher. He has given solo and chamber music performances across North America, Europe, and Asia and has performed as soloist with the Oberlin College Orchestra, Eastman String Fellowship Orchestra, Sinfonia Academy Orchestra in the Philippines, the University of Macedonia Symphony Orchestra, University of Hawaii Symphony Orchestra, and Symphony Irvine. He is the recipient of the 2018 Outstanding Young Alumni Award at Oberlin College and Conservatory, which recognizes young alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professional careers and their service to humanity. He has also been named a Distinguished Alumnus of the Meadowmount School of Music.
A rising pedagogue of his generation, Teng was previously on the faculty at DePaul University School of Music, the Music Institute of Chicago, and the Montecito International Music Festival. He is president and founder of the nonprofit Fulton Music Society, and is the director of the Fulton Summer Music Academy and the Fulton In Residence touring program. He began his teaching career as a teaching assistant at the Meadowmount School of Music and Northwestern University Bienen School of Music, assisting Sally Thomas, Amy Barlowe, and Roland and Almita Vamos. He has given masterclasses and coachings at Lawrence University, University of Hawaii, Maranatha Baptist University, Cornell College, University of Macedonia, Eastman Pre-College, Istituto Musicale Sammarinese in San Marino, Conservatorio Bruno Maderna in Cesena, Italy, Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali "Pietro Mascagni" in Livorno, Italy, Taipei American School, and Conservatório Villa-Lobos in Rio de Janeiro. Prior to founding Fulton, he
took students on tours to the Philippines, Greece, Italy, and San Marino, where he gave masterclasses and performed with his students.
Teng's students have recently placed at competitions both locally and nationally, including Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, DePaul Concerto Competition, Hellam Young Artists Competition, Chicago Youth Symphony Concerto Competition, Denver Young Artists National Violin Competition, Indianapolis Matinee Musicale Competition, Walgreens National Competition, Indiana School of Music Concerto Competition, Charleston International Music Competition, Confucius Music Festival Competition, and Sejong Music Competition. Many of his students have been admitted to top universities and conservatories, including Oberlin Conservatory, Juilliard School of Music, New England Conservatory, Indiana University, Northwestern University, Manhattan School of Music, Mannes New School of Music, and Berklee College of Music, and have been awarded Fulbright and Wells scholarships. His students have gone on to win jobs at the Lyric Opera of Chicago Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Grant Park Orchestra, Peninsula Music Festival, Evansville Philharmonic, Louisville Philharmonic, and Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra. Teng’s students have soloed with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, Springfield Symphony, Denver Young Artist Orchestra, and Montecito Festival Orchestra, and have been guest concertmaster of Fort Wayne Symphony. In 2015, the Addison C. Teng Merit Scholarship was established at the Music Institute of Chicago for his studio.
Teng graduated with a Master of Music in Violin Performance and String Pedagogy from Northwestern University Bienen School of Music and received his Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music. His principal teachers and mentors have included Joey Corpus, Sally Thomas, Roland and Almita Vamos, Peter Takács, Amy Barlowe, and Karen Ritscher.
A rising talent of her generation, Aitong Zhang has been a prize winner at the Hong Kong International Piano Invitation 
Competition and the IAC International Piano Competition, and has been awarded first prize at the 2021 SAE National Youth Competition and the 2017 Franz Schubert International Piano Competition. She began her piano journey at the age of five and soon after joined the studio of Professor Li Qi. Zhang later earned admission to the prestigious High School attached to Guangzhou Xinghai Conservatory of Music. There, she continued to study piano under the guidance of Professor Zhu Qing. Zhang currently studies with Professor Peter Takács at Oberlin Conservatory of Music. She has attended the San Francisco International Piano Festival, North Coast Piano Festival, Montecito International Music Festival and Fulton Summer Music Academy. Zhang has given performances across the United States, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, and China, and has recently joined the roster of the Fulton Chamber Players.
Violinist Paul Hauer joined the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra in the fall of 2016. Solo concerts have brought Mr. Hauer to the countries of Germany, Greece, France, the Czech Republic, and the Philippines. Chamber music and orchestral concerts have brought him to Italy, San Marino, Singapore, Mexico, and China. Before moving to Milwaukee, he was Principal
Second Violin of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra and performed regularly with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Louisville Orchestra.
Mr. Hauer traveled to Athens in May of 2015 to participate in the 4th Leonidas Kavakos International Masterclass. One month earlier, he performed the Sibelius Violin Concerto with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. Other honors include winning the Indianapolis Matinée Musicale Collegiate Competition in 2013, which resulted in a performance at the Indiana Landmarks Center with pianist David Keep. In the summer of 2011, he toured Europe with the Denver Young Artists Orchestra as the soloist for the Barber Violin Concerto. While serving as teaching assistant to Addison Teng, he performed and taught lessons with the Teng Studio on their international tours. He is a founding member of the Fulton Chamber Players, a classical music ensemble uniting world-class artists to present exceptional programs.
Mr. Hauer’s first violin lessons were with Gloria Schroeder and Ferenc Fenyő, and studied afterwards with Stéphane Tran Ngoc, Carol Leybourn, and Catherine Walby through the Lawrence Academy of Music. Hauer received his degrees from Oberlin Conservatory and Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, and his principal teachers include Addison Teng and Alex Kerr. As a teacher, Mr. Hauer is on faculty at the Fulton Summer Music Academy, and coaches strings at the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra and Maranatha Baptist University. Mr. Hauer is a native of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and performs with the Peninsula Music Festival each summer.
Amy Hess is a member of the viola sections of the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Grant Park Orchestra, and is on the faculty of the
Fulton Summer Music Academy. She was formerly principal viola of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and a member of the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra, and she has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Philharmonic, and Music of the Baroque. Ms. Hess has been heard on the Dame Myra Hess and Rush Hour concert series in Chicago and regularly performs as a member of the Fulton Chamber Players and the Chicago Ensemble. She has recently been a soloist with Sinfonietta DuPage and collaborated in concert with bassist Edgar Meyer as part of the Aspen Salida concert series in Colorado. She also was part of the Chicago premiere of Joel Puckett’s string quartet concerto Short Stories with the Northwestern Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and performed the solo viola role in Richard Strauss’ Don Quixote with cellist Joseph Johnson and the Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra.
Ms. Hess received her Master of Music in viola from Northwestern University and is a Phi Beta Kappa alumna of Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music, where she earned degrees in French and violin. While at Oberlin, she spent a semester in Paris, studying violin with David Rivière of the CNSM and musicology at the Sorbonne. Her interest in French music continued with a collaboration with Ravel scholar Sigrun Heinzelmann on a presentation at the Music Theory Midwest conference and several lectures at Oberlin. Ms. Hess’ principal teachers and mentors have included Karen Ritscher, Roland Vamos, David Bowlin, and Addison Teng, but it all began thanks to her mother, a Suzuki violin teacher in Lancaster, PA.

Dave Bradley is a comedian, writer, and producer currently in Chicago, IL.
Since 2019, Dave has created a lane in the comedy scene by working on his craft and speaking his mind, on and offstage.
From starting in a small bar in Chicago, to working many comedy clubs (Laugh Factory, Comedy Bar, The Comedy Shrine, Riddles Comedy Club Etc), and now hitting the road doing shows in multiple cities across the country, it’s clear that Dave has no end in sight. Since 2021, he created the brand “The Corner Classic”, a monthly comedy show where comedians travel to Chicago to deliver fresh perspectives to the audience. ANDIE (she/her) is a Soul, Blues, & Jazz inspired songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, & bandleader of ANDIE & The Bandits. She has been involved in Chicago’s music scene for over 6 years, having attended Columbia College Chicago for her Bachelor’s in Contemporary Music while playing at venues all across Chicago. ANDIE & The Bandits recently concluded their 4 month long residency at Golden Dagger, having added new songs to their original set of music each month. Whether accompanying herself on electric guitar, or leading The Bandits, ANDIE’s strong sense of vulnerability shines through in her lyricism & expressive voice.

About KAIA:
From the tango of the Rio de la Plata to the string quartets of Silvestre Revueltas, the KAIA String Quartet is an ensemble devoted to promoting the rich and colorful music of Latin America. Active performers in both the US and abroad, highlights of the most recent season include a collaboration with Jazz singer Paul Marinaro and performances at Chicago area venues including the Studebaker Theatre, the Epiphany Center for the Arts, the Morton Arboretum, the Mozart Immersive Experience, and the Kenilworth Assembly Hall. The quartet's most recent tour of Uruguay and Argentina included a performance at Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.
The Quartet plays an active role in Chicago's music scene and has performed at the Chicago Latino Music Festival, the Ear Taxi Festival, and Chamber Music on the Fox. In 2017, KAIA was the first ensemble in residence at Chicago's classical radio station, WFMT. During this residency they explored the world of Latin classical music with audiences through daily radio segments, performances and broadcasts around the city and the production of KAIA Kids, a series of children's education videos.
Celebrated by Downbeat magazine for its ability to "beautifully blur the lines between jazz, classical, Latin and world music" KAIA’s album collaboration with Fareed Haque was chosen by Chicago Tribune’s Howard Reich as one of the top ten classical recordings of 2018. Their album, Sureño, explores the music and relationship of Argentinian composers Astor Piazzolla and José Bragato. The latest recording project released in 2020 includes a collaboration with jazz pianist Ryan Cohan in his work Originations. KAIA together with Cohan and his chamber ensemble were featured performing this piece at 2019 Chicago's Jazz Fest main stage.
KAIA is deeply devoted to music education. They are teaching artists for Ravinia's Reach*Teach*Play program and for Classical Music Chicago's Young Peoples' Concerts program. KAIA founded DePaul University's Community Music Division chamber program where they inspire the next generation of performers. During the 2023-24 season, the KAIA String Quartet was invited to teach and perform at Michigan State University and Carthage College as artists-in-residence. In the summer of 2023, KAIA was on the New England Music Camp's Chamber Music Intensive faculty as the resident quartet and will be returning in the summer of 2024. Since 2018, KAIA has been the ensemble-in-residence for the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra's Summer Chamber Music Camp. The quartet traveled to Tijuana, Mexico to present and perform in schools through the sponsorship of the Mainly Mozart Festival annually between 2013 and 2017.

CHAI Collaborative Ensemble (CCE) concludes their 2023-24 Season with works that offer brief windows into diverse musical perspectives of four distinctive composers of classical music from the 20th and 21st centuries. Jenni Brandon's Sea Quartet is a colorful tribute to the beauty of the ocean and all the creatures and ecosystems that dwell within it. It was commissioned by the L.A. Musical Salon as part of my composer residency with the Vientos Trio from 2008-2009, and was inspired by her living near the Pacific Ocean. Heitor Villa-Lobos' Trio for Oboe, Clarinet, and Bassoon offers a fusion between various forms of traditional Brazilian rhythms and music and the classical wind trio. Villa-Lobos gravitated towards the raw sounds of wind instruments, and indulged in a variety harmonic clashes, rhythmic dexterity, and dynamic extremes in this work. Gernot Wolfgang's Windows is a pensive yet flowing piece for clarinet, bassoon and piano. In the composer's words, "the main theme of this 12 minute composition in one movement is presented in a variety of musical environments throughout the piece. In an allegorical sense, it is as if the listener was walking down a hallway lined with windows, periodically catching a view of the exterior. The outside world always stays the same, but the perspective of the viewer/listener changes from window to window... a chain of parallax views." Valerie Coleman's Trio Toccata was written in the summer of 2014, and equally showcases the virtuosity of the oboe, bassoon, and piano. In Coleman's words, it is "a lyrical, high paced romp that is heavily jazz influenced."

About Cult like:
Cult like is brand new to the music scene, however, each of the band members is not. Each playing in different projects over the years, the guys eventually came together just before the release of the EP, “Pretty Shore”. The band blends together poppy and alternative elements, but also makes whatever they feel like given everyone in the band has a different musical background. The band consists of Brice Lanham (Drums), Mission Marcis (Bass), and Victor Roa (Guitar/Vocals).

About:
Converging innovative musical writing with a passion for improvisation, Retrospect is a new emerging band on the Chicago jazz scene. Rooted in the voice of American music, the band's journey began as a senior recital band at Columbia College Chicago. This group boasts five instrumentalists, with composer and saxophonist Ben Jossi, Jackson Arbogast on guitar, Miles Pretel on keys and piano, Ethan Davila on bass, and Hugh Maxey on drums, the lineup was set.
Their music is a captivating blend of past and present, where jazz's improvisational spirit dances with Latin rhythms, hip hop beats, soulful blues, and a sprinkle of American roots. This unique fusion began during Ben's senior recital aptly titled "Retrospect." Soon, they headlined at Manifest, Columbia's spring arts festival, under the name "Ben Jossi's Retro Collective."
But it was their recording at Sessions@33, a Columbia production akin to a tiny desk concert, that solidified their identity as Retrospect. With some new members that brought a powerful sound, the name stuck. For Retrospect, their music identifies with jazz's limitless possibilities and adds to the allure of genre-blending. It goes beyond music; it's storytelling through the musical language this group performs with.

A night of transportive neoclassical soundscapes by two visionary composers.
Gregory Allison creates with a single violin a sound that travels across great landscapes. He has toured the world with violin in hand and is endlessly inspired by the instrument’s journey around the globe, especially it’s use in South Indian Classical music. His live performance blends the Indian Classical melodic improvisation with his classical sensibility as a film composer, offering the listener a sonic journey through time and space.
He will be performing his 2021 debut album Portal in its entirety, along with new compositions for amplified violin and string quartet.
Gregory recently moved back to Portland after 5 years living in LA, where he started the record label and recording studio Holy Volcano. He has released four albums on the label: one solo, two with collaborator Tristan de Liege, and as producer for the debut album from songwriter Ella Luna. He is currently collaborating with electronic composers to create ReWorked versions of the music from his debut solo record Portal.
Slow Meadow is Houston multi-instrumentalist Matt Kidd. Kidd's releases as Slow Meadow have been celebrated by the New York Observer, NPR's Stephen Thompson, Echoes' John Diliberto, and who sampled Lachrymosia for the platinum-selling song on his debut album, FREE 6LACK. In 2022, Kidd provided the original soundtrack to the film, "My Mind & Me".
Two years following 2017’s Costero, Slow Meadow returned with its third full-length album Happy Occident, a collection of textured ambient melodies. Fueled by the anxiety derivative of modern life and the frenetic and often uncertain state of these ever-changing times, Happy Occident provides music for reflection. A soundtrack to life’s contemplative moments, and an experience akin to mindfulness meditation.
In 2021, Slow Meadow is back with Upstream Dream, its first wholly new music since 2020’s By the Ash Tree, which bookends a period of creative output that introduced Kidd’s vision of calming and meditative ambient music.
With a foundation of piano, string orchestration, and an ever-evolving electronic palette, Slow Meadow has traversed the borders of neoclassical and minimalist electronics with Upstream Dream, delivering a deeply personal and transportive experience that speaks directly to the ebbs and flows and mundanity and marvels of life. Cassiopeia is a classical and alternative band that formed in the fall of the past year. The Chicago-based group is comprised of 3 classically trained musicians who use their time together to reminisce and explore through their music.
The group features pianist and producer June Thomas, vocalist Kensey Kendall, guitar player Alice Avery, and violinist Trinity Clay. The group met through college and their mutual love for the arts. Cassiopeia’s songs form spontaneously and intuitively. The members each bring a different element of beauty to every composition; June’s piano provides an elegant structure, Trinity’s instrumentation adds a layer of melody and harmony, and Kensey’s lyrics charge every song with emotion and memory. Together, They create music made of sorrow and cautious hope.

Axiom brings a fresh batch of international world premieres from Vancouver back to Chicago for this concert, along with quintets by Timothy Edwards, Amos Gillespie, Timothy Johnson, Elizabeth Start, Augusta Read Thomas and the winning quintet from the 2024 C3 Composition Competition by Maxwell Franko.

Flamencodanza is a duo collaboration that started in 2021 at the Avignon Festival in France. Different elements fuse together in a unique manner producing an award-winning show with beauty and inspiration. Elements of Flamenco, Brazilian music and jazz give the music a variety of colours. Aylin Bayaz, contemporary flamenco dancer, trained at the Amor de Dios studios, performed in “tablaos flamencos” in Madrid, and completed MA Dance at the Institute of the Arts Barcelona in 2018. Her duo show “Flamencodanza” -Best show of dance and physical theatre, Hollywood Fringe 2022, was premiered in Avignon, France 2021 and has toured internationally since.
Raul Mannola, Buenos Aires 1963, is a flamenco guitarist with a jazz background, he studied with flamenco guitar master Manolo Sanlúcar. He has dedicated more than 30 years to the study of flamenco guitar and has released 10 solo albums. About Periwink:
Periwink is an emerging Chicago-based group that does primarily instrumental music with influences from Lofi-jazz beats and Video game music to Neo-Soul and Funk. This group has previously performed under the name “Kyle J-E Trio Experiment” before adding flautist Caylee Wells to the lineup and changing the name to Periwink. The group also features Gabe Guthrie on drum set and Nikolas Ballut on electric bass. Periwink also likes to feature different artists on their live sets, bringing different vocal artists or instrumentalists to add excitement to the shows with unique approaches to cover songs and new versions of original tunes.
Their music often touches on nostalgic emotions, from the warm and fuzzy feeling of childhood memories to the bittersweet longing for a past that can never be recaptured. If you’re looking for music that will transport you to a different time and place, then Periwink is the artist for you. They have released a few singles including “Light Night Snacks” and they have a lot more coming in 2024 with more original music, covers, and captivating live shows.

About Emily Chloe Quinn Ensemble:
The Emily Chloe Quinn Ensemble, currently a duo, is composed of Emily Chloe Quinn and Paul Vincent. Emily is a singer/songwriter who performs in the Chicago area. She plays piano and has a Master’s Degree in Oboe Performance from the University of Cincinnati-Conservatory of Music. Her EP, “My Own Mountain,” released in November of 2022, received critical acclaim in a review in New City Music Magazine in February of 2023 titled Sly Subjugation: A Review of Emily Chloe Quinn’s “My Own Mountain” by Robert Rodi. She recently released a 3-song EP on Bandcamp in November of 2023, entitled "Wave of Sound" and continues to write and perform music regularly. She is performing in the Chicago area with her bass player, Paul Vincent, and they are recording a full length album. Their style has been aptly described as “Baroque Pop” with piano-centric arpeggios, and her pointed, story-like lyrics speak volumes to the soul. With the new edition of the mellotron, the duo's modern, chamber-like sound is enhanced.

About:
IRIS is a jazz quintet comprised of Arman Sangalang, Kirby Fellis, Austyn Menk, Morgan Turner, and Paul Barrilles. The group was born out of five peers’ mutual desire to fuse jazz music’s historic subgenres, such as hard bop and post-bop, with a modern aesthetic. Their compositions are a reflection of their musical upbringing, having been influenced by musicians like Mulgrew Miller, Roy Hargrove, Wayne Shorter and Walter Smith III.
IRIS has toured throughout the Midwest performing at venues including Cliff Bells (MI), Merriman’s Playhouse (IN), Jazz Central Studios (MN), Andy’s Jazz Club, The Whistler and Fulton Street Street Collective (IL). In summer 2022, IRIS was one of four groups in the United States selected to participate in the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Academy.
Saxophonist and composer Arman Sangalang has been garnering attention as an up-and-coming jazz musician in the Chicago music scene. He has performed at major festivals including the Hyde Park Jazz Festival, Clifford Brown Jazz Festival and Chicago Jazz Festival. Arman’s debut record “Quartet” featuring Dave Miller, Matt Ulery and Devin Drobka was released on Calligram Records in August 2023.
A captivating Chicago-based trombonist, educator and composer, Kirby Fellis has a passion and gratitude for music that has allowed him to perform at venues such as DePauw Jazz Festival and Chicago Jazz Festival. Kirby has played with many great artists including Kurt Elling, Darius Rucker, Terrell Stafford, and Etienne Charles. Kirby is currently on faculty as the Jazz Ensemble Director at Harper College.
Austyn Vaughn Menk is a pianist, organist, composer, and educator from Le Center, Minnesota currently living outside of Chicago, Illinois. A former student of Prof. Reggie Thomas and Dr. Masayoshi Ishikawa, Austyn has had the great privilege of playing with artists including Mardra Thomas, Lenard Simpson, Guy King, Tatum Langley, and the Blueshift Big Band. Austyn currently serves on staff at Northern Illinois University as Music Admissions Coordinator.
Morgan Turner is a Chicago-based bassist and composer. She received her Bachelor of Music from Northern Illinois University, where she had the opportunity to study privately with professors Marlene Rosenberg, Geof Bradfield, and Bobby Broom. Morgan was selected to be a part of the Women in Jazz Organization 2023 mentorship program, during which she was mentored by composer Ayn Inserto.
Paul Barrilles is a professional jazz musician based in Chicago. He can be found playing with notable jazz musicians including Adam Larson, Geof Bradfield, Clark Sommers, Julius Tucker, and Ethan Philion. Barrilles holds degrees in jazz studies from Northern Illinois University (BM) and DePaul University (MM). In addition, Barrilles has studied with today’s master drummers such as Kenny Washington, Gregory Hutchinson, Dana Hall, and Kendrick Scott.

His artistic love of traditional jazz and funky bass lines helps to create a powerful musical voyage. Micah has grown in Chicago’s jazz scene by participating in The Jazz Institute of Chicago’s Jazz Ambassador program and Ernest Dawkins Young Masters program, while studying under Chicago greats such as Junius Paul, Vincent Davis, Justin Dillard, Michael Manson, Charles Heath, Kahil El Zabar, Robert Bobby Irving iii and Corey Wilkes helped to shape his diverse sound.
Leading his band across the Chicago area performing at Dorians, Andy’s Jazz Club, The Jazz Showcase, The Promontory, Bronzeville Winery, Millennium Park and the Hyde Park Jazz Festival as well as being a sideman to international artist such as Vincent Davis, Dee Alexander, Ernest Dawkins, Marquis Hill, Isaiah Collier, Christopher McBride and Makaya McCraven. Micah has released his debut album entitled “Becoming” that is on all streaming platforms.
Micah Collier brings a new resonance to contemporary jazz. Bridging the classic sounds of McCoy Tyner with the electric sounds of Marcus Miller, as well as his love of Chicago House Music to create his unique sound of Jazz Fusion. He expands the understanding of jazz to be inclusive of other genres to create music that feels good to the soul.
About ZN:
ZN, a compassionate Chicago-bred artist with a labyrinthian set of disciplines, has been musically inclined since childhood. Beginning as a drummer during his toddler years, he grew to eventually become a Nationally-Ranked Jazz Trumpeter in adolescence, receiving awards & mentorship from luminary musicians & institutions including Wynton Marsalis & the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra among others. Now a DJ, Producer, Pianist, Composer & Creative Writer, he has been blessed with the space to convey his pensive and poetic artistic stylings through this multitude of mediums.

About the performers:
Sunny Haelstorm: Sunny Haelstorm is a performing & teaching artist and model who has been electrifying the Chicago burlesque community since 2017. With 15+ years of dance training and performance experience, Sunny delivers striking performances that highlight their passion, musicality and versatility. This "Windy City Whirlwind" has appeared in numerous shows throughout the Midwest, including Jeezy's Juke Joint 2019 and Dirty Show 2024.
Kazmo Universe: KazMo is a teacher, poet, activist, and music performer from Chicago who intentionally creates to be an advocate for the Black community , LGBTQ+community and Women. In 2022, KazMo joined the main ensemble of the burlesque troupe Body Confidence for Queens, where They continue to learn, create and perform from theaters, local clubs, music venues and festivals.
Lisa Sweets: Lisa Sweets is an actor, poet, and sparkly showpony from Chicago who found burlesque as a way to express herself and feel free in her body. She often performs alongside her group The Bang Bangs throughout the city, including 2023’s Show Me Burlesque festival.
Morteisha Addams: Morteisha Addams, the Vampiress of Chicago, the Gothicc Showghoul, the woman, the demon, the vampire. She made her burlesque debut in September 2022 at Plan 9 Burlesque. Since then, the vamp has been making her rounds along the city. Performing for Sindy Vicious’ Nightshade, Sio Bast’s Obscura, Strapped, and Willy LaQueue’s Delirium. Her expertise lies in the darkly inclined. For one hell of a good time (emphasis on hell) Morteisha Addams is your glamour ghoul for all bloody intents and purposes.
Juniper Perle: Juniper Perle is a foxy temptress reigning from the Southside of Chicago who began her burlesque journey in 2018. As an erotic laborer and new parent, she found her political home within the sex workers’ rights and reproductive freedom movements, where she discovered her path in advocacy and the curiosity to explore herself as an artist. Juniper reenters the burlesque world full of vitality, newness, and with the same seduction.

Shakale Davis is a singer and songwriter from Chicago Illinois. Growing up surrounded by music and singing, Shakale’s ear for music and the arts was quickly developed, starting in church, and later singing and arranging background vocals for various artists. His artistry brings forth unique elements of gospel, jazz, R&B, A Cappella, and classical music, to contribute to his imaginative vocal arranging and rich vocals. His latest single, “Don’t Blame Me”, is an R&B showcase of his sultry baritone, and his relatable yet poetic and inventive lyricism. Shakale is excited to release even more captivating music, as he continues to evolve in his artistry.

About Paige and the Kizers:
Paige and the Kizers is a live band product of the original music written by the band’s creator and lead singer Paige Kizer. The group embraces authenticity and human connection through live performance. Paige and the Kizers have played several Chicago live venues such as Reggies, Cubby Bear, Montrose Saloon, Gallery Cabaret and Epiphany. Every member brings a spark of creativity and bright spirit to every show.
About Chan:
Chan is a rhythmic phonic musical artist from the city of Chicago who specializes in taps, contralto/ baritone phonation and improvisation. Chan strives to investigate the unending capabilities taps have as a percussive form and contributor to the rhythmic fabric of music. Chan Band is a collaboration between Chan, Erez Dessel, Tyler Wagner, and Daniel Gayden who execute these possibilities in the Black vernaculars of jazz, rap, and rock through originals, historical jazz and taps material, classic tunes, and exploratory improvisation. Chan Band has played Cole’s Bar, Burlington, California Clipper, and Golden Dagger. Chan's life long background in rhythmic improvisation, devised theatre, creative writing, jazz, and taps all inform Chan's vision to help reinstall tap dance as a core part of the vernacular in jazz music. Chan is forever grateful to be able to say they have been mentored and/or taught by some of the best in the literary, film/tv, music, tap dance, and theatrical fields. This list includes but is not limited to: Savion Glover, Dianne “Lady Di” Walker, Chloe and Maud Arnold, Jumaane Taylor, Derick Grant, Jamey Haddad, Dave Eggers, Caroline Jackson Smith, PJ Paparelli, Marc Platt, Adam Siegel, and Jared Laboff.

About Tommy Bravos:
Tommy Bravos is like no other. His creations exist at the intersection of fantasy, nature, philosophy and reality, bringing audiences to deeper emotional experiences. Contemplative music taps into all the sources of energy that speak to him, including his Greek heritage, exploring what can be made through the factors from which humans form identity. Earnest lyrics and profound concepts define his music, woven together through lush chords and the allure of pop melodies. His latest project, Everything is Growing, Am I? which celebrates the changing nature of human identity, will be released on June 14th, celebrating it with a show here at Epiphany Center for the Arts.
Prior to this EP, Tommy released Adonis and a subsequent Remix Album. This project explored the various ways romance and anxiety can affect us, resulting in finding beauty through the types of suffering we endure. Get familiar with his music prior to the show!
About Yna:
Yna is a 23-year-old ambient indie producer and songwriter currently based in Chicago, Illinois. Drawing from their personal experiences and her drive to experiment with layers of synths, guitars, and bells, Yna’s lyricism and ethereal soundscapes are integral parts of her signature, cinematic sound. Media outlets describe Yna’s songs as “emotionally evocative music that makes you feel like the main character in an Oscar-winning tearjerker.” Driven by capturing their struggles with anxiety, relationships, and identity, Yna shows herself to the world through the words they sing. Yna wants listeners to live her own experiences through her music, also hoping that her songs can bring others comfort from the struggles they may be dealing with.
Raised in Southern California, Yna started singing at the age of four and taught herself how to play the guitar and piano at the age of nine. After releasing a number of singles, such as “unaligned” and “south loop,” Yna moved to Chicago in 2021 to pursue a career in music. Since moving to Chicago, Yna has made a name for herself in both Illinois and California. In 2023, Yna formed their band, Yna and the Seasons, which played 15 shows throughout the year. Yna and the Seasons have performed at prominent venues in Chicago such as Schubas Tavern, Beat Kitchen and Sleeping Village as well as Chapman University in Orange, California.
Currently, Yna is working on their debut studio album, set for release in the summer of 2024.

CoryaYo is a Chicago, US based Producer, Musician, Sound Healer and Visionary Artist. Originally from Spencer, Iowa, born (Cory Altenhofen). Cory is known for prolifically producing instrumental albums of hypnotic jazz influenced hip hop beats as well as providing organic meditative soundscapes as a sound healer and ambient musician. Cory has two rap groups under the names Strangers Of Necessity & Heavily Indicated and has production credits for artists including Isaiah Rashad, Audio Push, Price, G-Eazy, Vic Spencer, Rap Ferreira, Loyle Carner, Kota The Friend, Akira Rae & more. Joel Medina is a Puerto Rican, singer-songwriter and producer based in Chicago. Joel Medina has been in the music industry for 10 + years writing, producing and performing songs in Puerto Rico, Latin America and the United States.

About:
Jace McCloy is a professional Baritone singer-songwriter from Lansing, Michigan. He is a 2015 alumni of Lansing Catholic High School, and he graduated in 2020 from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Music (Primary Instrument: Voice).
His time at CMU was nothing short of impressive. He participated in Chamber Singers, was an invited soloist at university-sponsored events, and even starred in university operas and musicals! His most notable roles consist of The Mikado in The Mikado (2018), Bishop/Ensemble in Shrek: The Musical (2018), Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd (2019), Henry Ford in Ragtime (2019), and Don Pedro in Beatrice & Benedict (2020). During the summer of 2019, Jace was also cast in the summer stock season for Dunes Summer Theatre in Michigan City, Indiana. Here, he had the pleasure of playing Luther Billis in South Pacific and Lester/Billy Bob Blood in Hansel and Gretel Meet the Swamp Witch.
After graduating, Jace moved to Chicago for three years, where he got his start with Opera Inter Alia and Chicago Cabaret Professionals. He has worked with the likes of Susan Arjmand, Stewart Thompson, Frieda Lee, Anne & Mark Burnell, Carla Gordon, Hilary Feldman, and many others. Everyone mentioned played a part in his successful performances, including his CCP debut in Passing the Torch in April, 2022! Jace also had the pleasure of working with the incredible Woodstock Playhouse Cast of 2022 in Woodstock, New York! During this summer stock season, he played Reverend Shaw in Footloose, Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast, Selsdon in Noises Off, Herr Schultz in Cabaret, and George Wilson in Gatsby: An American Musical. Upon returning to Chicago, Jace was cast as Steve/Peter Understudy in Beverly Arts Center’s production of The Christmas Schooner (2022), which was an incredible experience.
While he has had an amazing run thus far, 2023 was the year that pushed Jace’s career even further. He had successful performances in Red Hour Cabaret in February and 100 Years of Disney in July, on top of releasing his highly anticipated album, Development in March, which shows his abilities as a songwriter. In August, he debuted a new song, “New Life”, from his upcoming album, Baptism. It was this song that helped him win the Denise Tomasello Scholarship in the 2023 Emerging Artists Showcase, which he is incredibly thankful for.
In his debut show, Acceptance, Jace paints a unique picture with a mix of Pop/Jazz songs, Musical Theatre pieces, and original works. He will be joined by Jeff English on piano, Kevin Schulz on bass, and Steve Thompson on drums.

The Fulton Chamber Players is a classical music ensemble uniting world-class artists to present exceptional programs. Our members are passionate about bringing the highest quality performances to all audiences as well as inspiring the next generation of musicians. The Fulton Chamber Players operates under the aegis of the Fulton Music Society, a nonprofit dedicated to transforming what music means in the 21st century by nurturing thoughtful, well-rounded students through dedicated music study. We are working to connect the dots between student life and the professional world by emphasizing skills and experiences that translate beyond their instruments. Through Fulton’s programs, young musicians will be ready to lead their generation in any field they choose.
About the performers:
Violinist Addison Teng is a sought-after performer and teacher. He has given solo and chamber music performances across North America, Europe, and Asia and has performed as soloist with the Oberlin College Orchestra, Eastman String Fellowship Orchestra, Sinfonia Academy Orchestra in the Philippines, the University of Macedonia Symphony Orchestra, University of Hawaii Symphony Orchestra, and Symphony Irvine. He is the recipient of the 2018 Outstanding Young Alumni Award at Oberlin College and Conservatory, which recognizes young alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professional careers and their service to humanity. He has also been named a Distinguished Alumnus of the Meadowmount School of Music.
A rising pedagogue of his generation, Teng was previously on the faculty at DePaul University School of Music, the Music Institute of Chicago, and the Montecito International Music Festival. He is president and founder of the nonprofit Fulton Music Society, and is the director of the Fulton Summer Music Academy and the Fulton In Residence touring program. He began his teaching career as a teaching assistant at the Meadowmount School of Music and Northwestern University Bienen School of Music, assisting Sally Thomas, Amy Barlowe, and Roland and Almita Vamos. He has given masterclasses and coachings at Lawrence University, University of Hawaii, Maranatha Baptist University, Cornell College, University of Macedonia, Eastman Pre-College, Istituto Musicale Sammarinese in San Marino, Conservatorio Bruno Maderna in Cesena, Italy, Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali "Pietro Mascagni" in Livorno, Italy, Taipei American School, and Conservatório Villa-Lobos in Rio de Janeiro. Prior to founding Fulton, he
took students on tours to the Philippines, Greece, Italy, and San Marino, where he gave masterclasses and performed with his students.
Teng's students have recently placed at competitions both locally and nationally, including Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, DePaul Concerto Competition, Hellam Young Artists Competition, Chicago Youth Symphony Concerto Competition, Denver Young Artists National Violin Competition, Indianapolis Matinee Musicale Competition, Walgreens National Competition, Indiana School of Music Concerto Competition, Charleston International Music Competition, Confucius Music Festival Competition, and Sejong Music Competition. Many of his students have been admitted to top universities and conservatories, including Oberlin Conservatory, Juilliard School of Music, New England Conservatory, Indiana University, Northwestern University, Manhattan School of Music, Mannes New School of Music, and Berklee College of Music, and have been awarded Fulbright and Wells scholarships. His students have gone on to win jobs at the Lyric Opera of Chicago Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Grant Park Orchestra, Peninsula Music Festival, Evansville Philharmonic, Louisville Philharmonic, and Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra. Teng’s students have soloed with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, Springfield Symphony, Denver Young Artist Orchestra, and Montecito Festival Orchestra, and have been guest concertmaster of Fort Wayne Symphony. In 2015, the Addison C. Teng Merit Scholarship was established at the Music Institute of Chicago for his studio.
Teng graduated with a Master of Music in Violin Performance and String Pedagogy from Northwestern University Bienen School of Music and received his Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music. His principal teachers and mentors have included Joey Corpus, Sally Thomas, Roland and Almita Vamos, Peter Takács, Amy Barlowe, and Karen Ritscher.
A rising talent of her generation, Aitong Zhang has been a prize winner at the Hong Kong International Piano Invitation Competition and the IAC International Piano Competition, and has been awarded first prize at the 2021 SAE National Youth Competition and the 2017 Franz Schubert International Piano Competition. She began her piano journey at the age of five and soon after joined the studio of Professor Li Qi. Zhang later earned admission to the prestigious High School attached to Guangzhou Xinghai Conservatory of Music. There, she continued to study piano under the guidance of Professor Zhu Qing. Zhang currently studies with Professor Peter Takács at Oberlin Conservatory of Music. She has attended the San Francisco International Piano Festival, North Coast Piano Festival, Montecito International Music Festival and Fulton Summer Music Academy. Zhang has given performances across the United States, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, and China, and has recently joined the roster of the Fulton Chamber Players.
Violinist Paul Hauer joined the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra in the fall of 2016. Solo concerts have brought Mr. Hauer to the countries of Germany, Greece, France, the Czech Republic, and the Philippines. Chamber music and orchestral concerts have brought him to Italy, San Marino, Singapore, Mexico, and China. Before moving to Milwaukee, he was Principal
Second Violin of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra and performed regularly with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Louisville Orchestra.
Mr. Hauer traveled to Athens in May of 2015 to participate in the 4th Leonidas Kavakos International Masterclass. One month earlier, he performed the Sibelius Violin Concerto with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. Other honors include winning the Indianapolis Matinée Musicale Collegiate Competition in 2013, which resulted in a performance at the Indiana Landmarks Center with pianist David Keep. In the summer of 2011, he toured Europe with the Denver Young Artists Orchestra as the soloist for the Barber Violin Concerto. While serving as teaching assistant to Addison Teng, he performed and taught lessons with the Teng Studio on their international tours. He is a founding member of the Fulton Chamber Players, a classical music ensemble uniting world-class artists to present exceptional programs.
Mr. Hauer’s first violin lessons were with Gloria Schroeder and Ferenc Fenyő, and studied afterwards with Stéphane Tran Ngoc, Carol Leybourn, and Catherine Walby through the Lawrence Academy of Music. Hauer received his degrees from Oberlin Conservatory and Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, and his principal teachers include Addison Teng and Alex Kerr. As a teacher, Mr. Hauer is on faculty at the Fulton Summer Music Academy, and coaches strings at the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra and Maranatha Baptist University. Mr. Hauer is a native of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and performs with the Peninsula Music Festival each summer.
Amy Hess is a member of the viola sections of the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Grant Park Orchestra, and is on the faculty of the Fulton Summer Music Academy. She was formerly principal viola of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and a member of the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra, and she has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Philharmonic, and Music of the Baroque. Ms. Hess has been heard on the Dame Myra Hess and Rush Hour concert series in Chicago and regularly performs as a member of the Fulton Chamber Players and the Chicago Ensemble. She has recently been a soloist with Sinfonietta DuPage and collaborated in concert with bassist Edgar Meyer as part of the Aspen Salida concert series in Colorado. She also was part of the Chicago premiere of Joel Puckett’s string quartet concerto Short Stories with the Northwestern Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and performed the solo viola role in Richard Strauss’ Don Quixote with cellist Joseph Johnson and the Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra.
Ms. Hess received her Master of Music in viola from Northwestern University and is a Phi Beta Kappa alumna of Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music, where she earned degrees in French and violin. While at Oberlin, she spent a semester in Paris, studying violin with David Rivière of the CNSM and musicology at the Sorbonne. Her interest in French music continued with a collaboration with Ravel scholar Sigrun Heinzelmann on a presentation at the Music Theory Midwest conference and several lectures at Oberlin. Ms. Hess’ principal teachers and mentors have included Karen Ritscher, Roland Vamos, David Bowlin, and Addison Teng, but it all began thanks to her mother, a Suzuki violin teacher in Lancaster, PA.

Dave Bradley is a comedian, writer, and producer currently in Chicago, IL.
Since 2019, Dave has created a lane in the comedy scene by working on his craft and speaking his mind, on and offstage.
From starting in a small bar in Chicago, to working many comedy clubs (Laugh Factory, Comedy Bar, The Comedy Shrine, Riddles Comedy Club Etc), and now hitting the road doing shows in multiple cities across the country, it’s clear that Dave has no end in sight. Since 2021, he created the brand “The Corner Classic”, a monthly comedy show where comedians travel to Chicago to deliver fresh perspectives to the audience. The Corner Classic is Dave’s way of showing creatives that your destiny can be in your hands, if you want it to be.
In 2023, Dave was nominated as a finalist for Chicago Reader Magazine’s “Best Stand Up Comic of 2023”, he also released his debut comedy special entitled “Happy Birthday!” Which is available to stream on the website thecornerclassic.com

About Andie & The Bandits:
ANDIE (she/her) is a Soul, Blues, & Jazz inspired songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, & bandleader of ANDIE & The Bandits. She has been involved in Chicago’s music scene for over 6 years, having attended Columbia College Chicago for her Bachelor’s in Contemporary Music while playing at venues all across Chicago. ANDIE & The Bandits recently concluded their 4 month long residency at Golden Dagger, having added new songs to their original set of music each month. Whether accompanying herself on electric guitar, or leading The Bandits, ANDIE’s strong sense of vulnerability shines through in her lyricism & expressive voice.

About KAIA:
From the tango of the Rio de la Plata to the string quartets of Silvestre Revueltas, the KAIA String Quartet is an ensemble devoted to promoting the rich and colorful music of Latin America. Active performers in both the US and abroad, highlights of the most recent season include a collaboration with Jazz singer Paul Marinaro and performances at Chicago area venues including the Studebaker Theatre, the Epiphany Center for the Arts, the Morton Arboretum, the Mozart Immersive Experience, and the Kenilworth Assembly Hall. The quartet's most recent tour of Uruguay and Argentina included a performance at Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.
The Quartet plays an active role in Chicago's music scene and has performed at the Chicago Latino Music Festival, the Ear Taxi Festival, and Chamber Music on the Fox. In 2017, KAIA was the first ensemble in residence at Chicago's classical radio station, WFMT. During this residency they explored the world of Latin classical music with audiences through daily radio segments, performances and broadcasts around the city and the production of KAIA Kids, a series of children's education videos.
Celebrated by Downbeat magazine for its ability to "beautifully blur the lines between jazz, classical, Latin and world music" KAIA’s album collaboration with Fareed Haque was chosen by Chicago Tribune’s Howard Reich as one of the top ten classical recordings of 2018. Their album, Sureño, explores the music and relationship of Argentinian composers Astor Piazzolla and José Bragato. The latest recording project released in 2020 includes a collaboration with jazz pianist Ryan Cohan in his work Originations. KAIA together with Cohan and his chamber ensemble were featured performing this piece at 2019 Chicago's Jazz Fest main stage.
KAIA is deeply devoted to music education. They are teaching artists for Ravinia's Reach*Teach*Play program and for Classical Music Chicago's Young Peoples' Concerts program. KAIA founded DePaul University's Community Music Division chamber program where they inspire the next generation of performers. During the 2023-24 season, the KAIA String Quartet was invited to teach and perform at Michigan State University and Carthage College as artists-in-residence. In the summer of 2023, KAIA was on the New England Music Camp's Chamber Music Intensive faculty as the resident quartet and will be returning in the summer of 2024. Since 2018, KAIA has been the ensemble-in-residence for the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra's Summer Chamber Music Camp. The quartet traveled to Tijuana, Mexico to present and perform in schools through the sponsorship of the Mainly Mozart Festival annually between 2013 and 2017.
