About "Songs of Sarah": Tribute to Sarah Vaughan:

"SONGS OF SARAH" Tribute to jazz icon Sarah Vaughan. A one-woman theatrical portrayal of Sarah Vaughan's journey into music as a child and early music career, starring Rose Mallett. "Songs of Sarah" has garnered 4 awards from the Desert Theater League in Palm Springs, CA. Rose Mallett, a Chicago native, was declared a “Living Jazz Legend” at Los Angeles City Hall in 2016. She has captured the essence of vocal delivery of the range/texture of Sarah Vaughan; the joy and playfulness of Ella Fitzgerald; the foreboding pain of Billie Holiday; and the regal articulation of Lena Horne. Rose has two weekly jazz residencies in Palm Springs, The Purple Room and Vicky’s. Her voice is simply beautiful.
