About:
The Chicago HBCU Alumni Choir is a dedicated organization with a primary mission of safeguarding the rich musical legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Additionally, the organization extends to the community through service and supporting the emerging generation of scholars and musicians. Founder and Director, Martin L. Woods, an alumnus of Morehouse College, along with HBCU alumni is excited to announce an extraordinary event known as 'THE HBCU EXPERIENCE Vol. 3: Concert and Scholarship Fundraiser,' which encapsulates the essence of the organization's purpose. The concert will feature special guests and HBCU honorees.
This mission is founded on four fundamental pillars: preservation, outreach, scholarship, and alumni engagement. Comprising HBCU alumni from the Chicagoland area, the Chicago HBCU Alumni Choir was established in 2023. The choir has graced local stages, performing at prominent venues such as the United Center, Wrigley Field and Soldier Field.
