About:

The first show in a quarterly residency with Chicago artist and performer D. JeanBaptiste.

The talent and insights of musicians Muqks, Mrs. Hands, Donkey Basketball, and D
Jean-Baptiste will be fastened together in an improvisational electric-acoustic
quartet, interpreting graphic scoring and direction from Jean-Baptiste and
contextualized visually through the work of projectionist Lise Ivanova.

This show deals with the process of hesitancy and repression, action potential
within neural networks, and death before life has begun.

Jean-Baptiste will curate three more shows during spring, summer, and fall of
2026, collaborating with a large cohort of creatives from across the city to turn the
Catacombs into an immersive, multimedia exploration of science, emotion, and
human behavior.
