About:

Katja Ji is a jazz pianist and songwriter newly based in Chicago. Her sound draws on jazz, classical, soul, and Korean traditional music, shaped by years of making music in South Korea and the Netherlands. She earned a Master's in Jazz Piano from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and has performed at Blue Note Amsterdam and Duc des Lombards in Paris. Her solo set moves between instrumental piano and vocals, blending classic jazz standards with original songs, from intimate singer-songwriter pieces to layered textures of voice, piano, and synth built through live looping. Whatever the style, her music speaks with honesty and flow.
