About:

J. Renee is a jazz trumpet player, gospel vocalist, and rising composer. Born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, J. Renee picked up the trumpet at a young age and began her path of musicianship in concert and marching band music. She began to dabble in jazz at the University of Pittsburgh, where she composed & performed her first jazz arrangement of the song ‘Better Love’ by Fred Hammond. In the winter of 2024, J. made the move to Chicago and immediately immersed herself in the jazz scene. She is a member of the music group ‘The Space Arrangers’ and has made appearances at Clara Chicago, Andy’s Jazz Club, The Epiphany Center, and various jazz venues throughout the city. J. Renee not only looks to play music, but to tell a story through each note that rings.
