About One Earth Film Festival:
Arrive early to talk with action partners, avoid lines, and get the best seats.
Arrive starting at 5 p.m. for Epiphany’s Golden Hour, featuring music and the purchase of food and beverage (including 21+ drinks) from the bar, as well as exclusive access for One Earth ticket-holders to two exhibits, Chicago artist Lindsay Olson’s activating Manufactured River, featuring an artist talk by Olson, plus a sound installation “Water Journey” by music artist Jon Smith at 6 p.m. – and “Guardian Threads”, featuring Indiana artist Helen Geglio’s Amulet Bundles and Chicago artist Anders Zanichkowsky's Burial Blankets (meditating on green burials). Relevant advocacy groups will be sharing resources and actions in the Guild Room, featuring the Come as You Are exhibit. Stay after the film for an enlightening facilitated dialogue with relevant experts and advocates.

FILM DESCRIPTION: BAD RIVER, narrated by Quannah ChasingHorse and Academy-Award nominee, Edward Norton; written and directed by award-winning filmmaker, Mary Mazzio; and produced by Grant Hill (Owner of the Atlanta Hawks) and Allison Abner (writer for Narcos, West Wing and descendant of the Stockbridge Munsee Band), is a new documentary film which chronicles the Wisconsin-based Bad River Band and its ongoing fight for sovereignty, a story which unfolds in a groundbreaking way through a series of shocking revelations, devastating losses, and a powerful legacy of defiance and resilience, which includes a David vs. Goliath battle to save Lake Superior, the largest freshwater resource in America. As Eldred Corbine, a Bad River Tribal Elder declares: “We gotta protect it… die for it, if we have to.”
We will also be screening one of the YFC winning films The Kiribati Project by Loyola University Chicago Students Michael Rogowski, Taylor Zielenbach, Robert Kennedy, and Sanjay Numbiar.
