About:
Sally Marian Rubin’s viral short film Zoomies comes to Epiphany Center for the Arts for a special screening accompanied by a live performance of its original score led by Susie McCollum.
Already known for its intimacy and emotional honesty, Zoomies takes on new dimensions as music moves from soundtrack to stage. Performed live alongside the film, McCollum’s score deepens the landscape of the film, creating an immersive experience where digital and live art become one. There will be a Q&A with Rubin and McCollum following the performance.
Join us for this unique screening and celebration of independent film, original music, and the power of shared experience.
About Susie McCollum:
Susie McCollum is a singer-songwriter who proudly walks a soulful, indie-folk line. One listen to any of her songs and you’ll hear the confessional power of Joni Mitchell, the lyrical prowess of Janis Ian, and the coy, jazzy-toned spirit of Norah Jones.
New York City-born & Chicago-based, McCollum’s musical journey spans opera, theater, jazz, R&B, & folk - providing an eclectic background that informs her textured, authentic sound. Her mesmerizing and poetic lyricism is fueled by compassion, wit, and an insatiable curiosity about the human experience.
Susie arrived on the scene with the celebrated single “New Year’s Eve” in 2022, praised by A&R Factory as a “part-love song, part-indie-soulful ode to bittersweet tradition.”
Her 2024 debut EP Tempt My Fate captivated audiences as “stirring and uniquely powerful” (CLOUT Magazine) for its soulful vocal and poignant songwriting.
So far, 2026 has brought SOLD OUT shows at the Mercury Lounge (NYC) & Epiphany Center for the Arts (Chicago), as well as her first scoring experience for the short film “zoomies” (71K views on Youtube).
In addition to her production credits, which extend into the theater, Susie has also honed her skills as an audio engineer - enabling her to truly inhabit every layer of the creative process. Her latest single “Abigail” is her best work yet.
