About Night Swims:

Night Swims is a project founded by Michael Thomas. Recently relocating from San Diego, and after successfully playing a plethora of shows throughout California at venues such as Casbah, Soda Bar, and Viper Room, with bands such as Pink Mountaintops and Tremours, as well as releasing a debut full length Idle/Wild to critical praise, Michael has structured a new lineup of the band in Chicago. The group consists of Cayden Hunter, Carter Opsahl, Austin Butler, Christian Dawson (Tinkerbelles, Wedding Dress, Gypsyblood), and Michael Thomas. The music, can be easily classified as Indie Rock though it blends the genres of Shoegaze, Psych Rock, Brit Pop, and Post Punk. The follow up LP to their debut is currently in the finishing stages, and will be released this fall on November 8, 2024. The second album “Borderline Colors” will continue with experimental soundscapes and reflects the evolution in Michael’s songwriting. This new iteration of the lineup also brings a new eagerness to the live sound as he has expanded to 3 guitars in addition to the rhythm section, offering a lush wall of sound to accompany the thoughtful lyrics and methodically hooked in choruses.

About Billy Joel Jr:

Billy Joel Jr. is indie rock fronted by songwriter Ari Levin with bandmates Charlie Burke Dykstal, Nate Dorian, and Karl El Sohkn. Recently lauded by Blockclub Chicago as “the next big Chicago band you don’t know”, Chicago’s indie bastards have been making a name for themselves with their electric live performances, and tongue-in-cheek slacker rock energy. They released their debut EP ‘Rubberhose’ in April of this year that has everything indie rock devotees have come to love. From sardonic melodies to wistful guitar playing, the boys have cultivated a sound thats reminiscent of of early Pavement and The Pixies. They've performed their slacker tunes across the midwest with notable performances at Empty Bottle, Sleeping Village, Schubas, and a handful of DIY spaces. You can follow them on social media and listen to their music wherever you stream good tunes
