About:
The Fulton Chamber Players is a classical music ensemble uniting world-class artists to present exceptional programs. Our members are passionate about bringing the highest quality performances to all audiences as well as inspiring the next generation of musicians.
Recent seasons have taken the members of FCP to audiences both in the US and abroad. The ensemble debuted in 2022 in a collaborative pop-up with Michelin-starred chefs in Chicago, and they continue to cultivate partnerships across the globe. Recent seasons have featured tours to Taiwan, Japan, Portland, Miami, Hawai’i, Canada, and across the Midwest. Upcoming concerts will take them to national concert halls in Taiwan, Vietnam, Hawai’i, and at major festivals and concert series across the Continental US, often in collaboration with guest artists and all while giving back to the communities they visit through masterclasses for local students.
The Fulton Chamber Players operates under the aegis of the Fulton Music Society, a nonprofit dedicated to transforming what music means in the 21st century by nurturing thoughtful, well-rounded students through dedicated music study. We are working to connect the dots between student life and the professional world by emphasizing skills and experiences that translate beyond their instruments. Through Fulton’s programs, young musicians will be ready to lead their generation in any field they choose. Learn more at www.fultonmusicsociety.org.
Please find the online program here.

About:
Ravenswood Winds (RWW) is a Chicago-based woodwind quintet dedicated to exploring the confluence of traditional classical composition and modern rock sensibilities. Keenly interested in how such disparate worlds can be brought together, RWW’s performances often feature the reedy, earthy idiosyncrasies found in the typical wind quintet instrumentation coupled with the unexpected tonal qualities and rhythm that are more prevalent coming from an electric guitar, bass, or drums.
Formed in 2015, RWW has performed at numerous locations around Chicago, including Evanston SPACE, the Lurie Garden at the Art Institute of Chicago, Art Makers Outpost, Fulton Street Collective, and in partnership with Classical Revolution Chicago. RWW frequently combines performance with education as they weave songs together to create a narrative for the listener. Concise and intricate pieces performed for the court versus rousing sea shanties for the common worker to illustrate the similarities and differences between class systems. Or “Ventis in Horto,” wind quintet music inspired by the work of Jean-Luc Mylayne.
In 2017 RWW shifted from the common literature written for wind quintet to focuson the concept of a show exploring the works of rock and indie artists like Alanis Morissette, Radiohead, and others. This departure from the typical quintet aesthetic explores the works of these individualsvia original arrangements, digital tape looping, and effects processing, asking the question “what does it mean to play 21st century literature with 18th century instrumentation?” Their fan favorite ongoing series entitled “Ravenswood Winds Play Radiohead” continuesto be showcased in the Chicagoland area.

About Dana Maragos
Earliest influences include her mother’s exquisite soprano voice, and her grandmother buying her a $25 guitar in Chicago's Old Town when she was 6 years old, harmonizing with her sister, memorizing long, lyrical passages of the songs of Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, and Eric Andersen.
In 2017, Dana released EP, Dana; the album October in 2020 and an EP, Tastes Like Fire in 2021.
“Dana Maragos is a superb songwriter with an excellent turn of phrase … wrapped in metaphor and allegory…pure Americana … superbly produced given crystal clear sound which showcases Maragos’ voice … a pleasure to listen to.” - Americana UK - Allen Fitter
A south Chicago-native, singer-songwriter, Dana lives on the city’s north side and plays gigs in the city and suburbs. Sunday church choir is a part of her regular practice as is the local open mic scene. Dana is currently working on a new collection, Unimaginable Things, due out this year.
Brian Wilkie, producer, arranger, highly sought-after pedal steel master and skilled multi-instrumentalist, adds rich textures on pedal steel and acoustic guitars. Brian hails from Central Illinois and is a member of Chicago’s best country band, The Hoyle Brothers, and has toured with Allison Krauss, Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan.

About:
Barack Obama's election changed history. And as we can clearly see, it also ended racism forever! But 44 - THE unOFFICIAL, unSANCTIONED OBAMA MUSICAL is the story of Obama you won't read about in history books... because history books are now banned in most states. But also because 44 is the story of Obama as Joe Biden kind sorta remembers it...
44 is a melting pot of music that delivers everything you'd come to expect from a musical about the Obama era - Sarah Palin scream - singing "Drill Me Baby" like Ozzy Osbourne, President Obama crooning "How Black is too Black?" over a smooth Motown groove, and of course, "Filibusters," a hardcore hip-hop jam where Mitch McConnell and Ted Cruz rap "Green Eggs and Ham" in its entirety. The political world is buzzing about 44! Barack Obama exclaims, "Of all the musicals about my presidency, this is one of them."

Reflections: Steve Roach "Structures From Silence"
Date: Friday, August 9, 2024
Doors: 8PM
Showtime: 9PM
Tickets: $53.05 - General Admission
About:
REFLECTIONS presents a two-hour immersion into sound, light, and space with ambient music legend Steve Roach. We’ll celebrate the 40th anniversary of his landmark album Structures From Silence, a timeless masterpiece of emotional depth and texture, paired with an architecturally-mapped light show.
⟴
STEVE ROACH draws on the beauty and power of the Earth's landscapes to create lush, meditative soundscapes. Inspired by Klaus Schulze, Popul Vuh, and Tangerine Dream, Roach’s visionary sound design has captivated listeners for decades.
First emerging with the Berlin School-styled album Now in 1982, he came into his own with the 1984 minimalist epic Structures From Silence. Efforts such as 1988's equally heralded Dreamtime Return were directly inspired by desert life, incorporating field recordings and rhythms inspired by indigenous music traditions. Dark ambient works such as 1996's The Magnificent Void and 2000's Midnight Moon reflected the vast expanse of space.
During the 2010s, he began building an extensive modular synthesizer/sequencer system, revisiting his Berlin School roots with albums such as 2020's album Tomorrow. Roach has maintained an impossibly prolific work rate throughout his career without sacrificing quality or craftsmanship, resulting in countless hours of truly sublime, otherworldly music.

Epiphany Center for the Arts – Chase House
Saturday, August 10, 2024 – 12:00-3:00pm
Do you need to register to vote? Have you moved or changed your name since you last voted? Are you seeking more information about your voting rights? On Saturday, August 10, from noon-3pm the Chicago chapter of the League of Women Voters will be holding voter registration and an educational event to empower voters and help them identify mis/dis-information and election day logistics. The event is presented as part of Epiphany’s inaugural Fest of Us! festival: A multifaceted art, music and entertainment experience that transcends ‘otherness’ and celebrates the community in US!
New voters and festivalgoers will have an opportunity to celebrate their democracy by snapping a selfie with HER FLAG - a colossal nationwide project created by Oklahoma-based artist Marilyn Artus in 2019-2021 to recognize the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment. HER FLAG has been exhibited at the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas and the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington D.C. and makes its first Midwest appearance at Epiphany Center for the Arts to amplify women’s voices during this pivotal election year.
Stop by the Voter Registration table in Epiphany’s Chase House to register to vote. Bring two (2) forms of identification, one (1) with your current residence. For more information about voter registration, go to: www.lwvchicago.org/voter-registration

WOMEN’S VOTING: KNOW YOUR HISTORY
Saturday August 10, 2pm - 5pm
Chase House at Epiphany Center for the Arts
Chicago Women's History Center (CWHC) is presenting a table with educational resources about the complex history of women's suffrage, black women's suffrage, and suffrage for African Americans in Illinois and the U.S. CWHC hopes to provide wider context to the history of Voting Rights in the U.S. as part of the Fest of Us! festival at Epiphany Center for the Arts on August 10, 2024.
ABOUT CWHC
The Chicago Women’s History Center (CWHC) is a non-profit, educational organization whose mission is to develop, preserve, and share resources for the study of Chicago women’s history. CWHC supports the documentation and dissemination of Chicago women’s history through research, writing, teaching, publication, preservation, interpretation, and public education. CWHC serves as dynamic network of academic scholars, teachers, archivists, librarians, media professionals, community leaders, activists and members of the general public, all interested in the power of Chicago women’s history to inform the present and inspire the future.
The Chicago Women's History Center was founded in 1971 as the Chicago Area Women’s History Conference to support research, writing, teaching, preservation, and dissemination of women's history in Chicago. The oldest continuing non-profit women’s history organization in the nation, CWHC has carried out its mission through public programs, academic seminars, and workshops, curriculum development, support of elementary, secondary, college and university
educators, walking and bus tours, and publications, documentaries, and public performances. In 1990 CWHC embarked on a major research and writing project that resulted in publication of the award-winning Women Building Chicago, A Biographical Dictionary 1790-1990 edited by Rima Schultz and Adele Hast, published by Indiana University Press in 2001.
CWHC houses resources that can be used by future scholars, teachers, students, filmmakers, new media professionals and those interested in researching Chicago and women’s history. The process of doing this project, and the products it produces, will help restore Chicago women’s rightful place in the history of social activism. In addition, the project will empower future generations of people as they use it to trace their activist roots and learn from and be inspired by the vital work of Chicago women.

Guild Literary Complex Ekphrastic* Poetry Reading: Self-Care as Resistance
Saturday, Aug 10, 3:30pm – 5:00pm
The Guild Room at Epiphany Center for the Arts
Caring for ourselves helps us to be more present in the world. Becoming aware of those areas where we might need additional support and asking for help can be scary but, in the end, it is what makes us stronger. The Guild Literary Complex presents five writers whose words help tell their stories of finding strength while battling body positivity, mental illness, depression and grief. Featuring: Kwabena Foli, April Gibson, Sam Herschel, Faylita Hicks, and Jennifer Karmin
This special program takes place against the backdrop of a powerful art exhibition, RESET and will include a special artist talk with the artist, Dwight White.
* Ekphrastic Poetry – Describes a work of art through poetry.
About the Guild Literary Complex
In 1989, a local, community-based bookstore, Guild Books (once located on Lincoln Avenue) began regularly hosting progressive, stimulating, and eclectic literary events. Soon after, the Guild Complex established itself as an official nonprofit organization with poet Michael Warr as its first executive director.
For the last 30 years, the Guild Literary Complex has been a pioneer on Chicago’s literary landscape, consistently hosting innovative and diverse events, featuring leading literary names, and welcoming new, emerging voices.
Actively working with individuals and organizations from all of Chicago’s many neighborhoods, the Guild seeks to connect seemingly disparate groups and geographies through literature—bringing unexpected writers, programs, and audiences together.

VOICE BOX: STORYTELLING…WITH A MUSICAL TWIST!
Epiphany Center for the Arts – Sanctuary
Saturday, August 10, 2024 – 8:00pm
Join us for a storytelling event that will take you on an untamed journey of inspiring stories that empower and unite! Voice Box features the wildly entertaining Mistress of Ceremonies, Maureen Muldoon, who curates a raucous evening of storytelling with a musical twist. Cathy Richardson, lead singer of Jefferson Starship launches the program with her song and theme “It’s About Time,” which inspires a story that in turn, inspires a spontaneous music response by Richardson. Described as a “story, a slam, a song, a serenade, a surrender,” Voice Box in Epiphany’s intimate Sanctuary performance space is a place to be heard and hear about the human condition.
VOICE BOX STORYTELLING is being presented as part of Epiphany’s inaugural FEST of US! festival on August 10: A multifaceted art, music and entertainment experience that transcends ‘otherness’ and celebrates the community in US!
About Maureen Muldoon
Maureen is an international speaker, writer, storyteller, and songbird who believes in the miraculous power of storytelling. She helps people tell their truth to expand their reach, leave their mark, and honor their lives. Her career began working in TV & film as an actress, writer, and producer, co-starred and guest-starred on shows like Dexter, CSI, and ER. She has been murdered by Brian Dennehy, seduced by Pierce Bronson, and turned into a monkey, a junkie, a jewel thief, and a thousand jilted lovers. But that’s just show biz. Maureen is an award-winning writer who has authored four books. Currently, she hosts writing retreats and spiritual adventures, taking creatives and spiritual seekers to sacred locations domestically, internationally, and, of course, internally.
About Cathy Richardson
It’s hard to think of any musician who’s had a more varied career than Chicago-based singer Cathy Richardson; from scrappy indie rock singer selling albums out of her car to commercial jingles, off-Broadway stage productions to fronting Jefferson Starship and a variety of side projects, she also picked up a Grammy nomination along the way. The twists and turns of her career feel impossible to follow, and incredibly unlikely, but are owed to the vast range of Richardson’s dynamite-packed vocal cords and her dogged perseverance to achieve goals she set as a teenager.

About:
BLUES SUPERGROUP PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE LATE, GREAT HARMONICA MASTER LITTLE WALTER
“Little Walter was a true innovator whose influence can still be felt in the blues world today. This tribute is our way of
honoring his legacy and introducing his music to a new generation of fans.”
-Mark Hummel
Harmonica giant LITTLE WALTER, born Marion Walter Jacobs, is considered the torchbearer and the standard by which
all other players are judged. In Walter’s short life (1930-1968) he had more Top Ten hits than any of his Chicago-based
Chess Records labelmates. In the early fifties, he had his first hit single, Juke. To this day, the record is the only
harmonica instrumental ever to be a number-one hit on the Billboard R&B chart. Walter’s amplified harmonica and
innovative approach transformed the instrument’s role in blues music and had a profound influence on countless
musicians.
MARK HUMMEL was born on the East Coast but raised in Los Angeles. He took up an interest in blues harp & rock-blues
music in high school but soon discovered the originators - Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson and Little Walter, to
name a few. Soon, Hummel was frequenting the legendary Ash Grove on Melrose Avenue in LA where he saw three
blues legends he would later work with on a regular basis: Charlie Musselwhite, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee and
James Cotton. By 1985 Mark Hummel's Blues Survivors hit the road full time and never looked back. Hummel has been
featured on over thirty recordings since 1985, including his Grammy-nominated, Blues Music Award-winning 2014 Blind
Pig Records release, Remembering Little Walter. Mark Hummel is a celebrated figure in the world of blues and has long
been recognized for his exceptional talent and deep reverence for the blues tradition.
Born and raised in Plano, Texas, Blues Music Award winner ANSON FUNDERBURGH’s musical journey began at an early
age. When he was eight or nine years old, Funderburgh received his first guitar. A box of 45s accompanied it - Jimmy
Reed, T-Bone Walker, B.B. King, Albert Collins, Freddie King and Ray Sharpe - singles that pointed him on his musical
path. Funderburgh taught himself to play the guitar and went on to make a living doing what he loved with that set of
strings. In 1978, he formed the iconic blues band Anson Funderburgh & The Rockets, who continue to define the sound
of modern-day Texas blues. Throughout his career, Funderburgh has had the privilege of sharing the stage, and working
and recording with many of the biggest names in blues, including Delbert McClinton and Jimmie Vaughan, along with
countless others. His unmistakable style, tone and sensibility has made him one of contemporary blues music’s most
important guitar players. Anson has developed into a legacy artist and his influence on innumerable guitarists is
immeasurable. With each performance, Funderburgh reaffirms his status as a true legend of the blues.
Georgia native Wes Starr stands as a rhythmic force, renowned for his unparalleled talent and dynamic presence behind
the drum kit. He has kept time behind Asleep at The Wheel, Delbert McClinton, Marcia Ball, Anson Funderburgh & the
Rockets, Hal Ketchum, Jimmie Vaughan, Willie Nelson, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, just to name a few! With a career spanning
decades, Starr has established himself as a cornerstone of the blues scene.
Upright bassist Bill Stuve is best known for his three decades with Rod Piazza & Mighty Flyers. A highly sought-after bass
player, Stuve has had the pleasure of backing up Jimmy Rogers, Charlie Musselwhite, Billy Boy Arnold, Pinetop Perkins,
Little Milton, Big Joe Turner and many other blues greats. He has left an indelible mark on the blues scene with his
impeccable musicianship and passion for the music.
Hailing from Oakman, Alabama, pianist Clay Swafford started playing at age six. Eventually, he was drawn to the blues
by the feeling in it and how the music expressed life’s highest of highs and lowest of lows. Swafford has had the
opportunity to back up harmonica giant James Cotton and guitarist Hubert Sumlin. He has shared the stage with a
legion of musical legends, including opening for the legendary Jerry Lee Lewis.

About:
If you were around during Chicago’s underground House Music movement or Rave scene in the late 80’s and early 90’s, then you’ll be utterly familiar with the name Julio Bishop. Whether from appearing weekly on some of the hottest party flyers throughout the Midwest or because you had a copy of his now infamous mix tape, “Love Nation” sold out of all the local record stores, the name Julio Bishop is synonymous with jacking dance floors since 1987.
Getting his start as a dancer and DJ in Chicago’s nightclubs and warehouses, but soon expanding his influence; from NYC to LA, to the beaches of Miami, Puerto Rico and Mexico, Germany and Sicily, Julio has been bringing his deep, mystifying grooves to the world for over 3 decades. His intimate knowledge of classic Afro-Latin and Jazz, , as well as his acquired proficiency of Disco, Electronica, Club & Deep House takes his sets far outside the realm of what is attainable by a greener selection of DJ’s.
Funneling his talents into the studio in the early 2000’s, Julio helped launch RealDEEP Recordings, along side label partner Brian Cullen (aka Bjak) where, together they paved the way to further coproductions and solo projects on labels such as Deep Explorer Music (Madrid) and Eargasmic Recordings (Chicago).
With more releases on the way and a selection of upcoming gigs scheduled between Chicago. Puerto Rico, LA & Hawaii, you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for what’s to come next from this proved House Music veteran.

About KAIA:
From the tango of the Rio de la Plata to the string quartets of Silvestre Revueltas, the KAIA String Quartet is an ensemble devoted to promoting the rich and colorful music of Latin America. Active performers in both the US and abroad, highlights of the most recent season include a collaboration with Jazz singer Paul Marinaro and performances at Chicago area venues including the Studebaker Theatre, the Epiphany Center for the Arts, the Morton Arboretum, the Mozart Immersive Experience, and the Kenilworth Assembly Hall. The quartet's most recent tour of Uruguay and Argentina included a performance at Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.
The Quartet plays an active role in Chicago's music scene and has performed at the Chicago Latino Music Festival, the Ear Taxi Festival, and Chamber Music on the Fox. In 2017, KAIA was the first ensemble in residence at Chicago's classical radio station, WFMT. During this residency they explored the world of Latin classical music with audiences through daily radio segments, performances and broadcasts around the city and the production of KAIA Kids, a series of children's education videos.
Celebrated by Downbeat magazine for its ability to "beautifully blur the lines between jazz, classical, Latin and world music" KAIA’s album collaboration with Fareed Haque was chosen by Chicago Tribune’s Howard Reich as one of the top ten classical recordings of 2018. Their album, Sureño, explores the music and relationship of Argentinian composers Astor Piazzolla and José Bragato. The latest recording project released in 2020 includes a collaboration with jazz pianist Ryan Cohan in his work Originations. KAIA together with Cohan and his chamber ensemble were featured performing this piece at 2019 Chicago's Jazz Fest main stage.
KAIA is deeply devoted to music education. They are teaching artists for Ravinia's Reach*Teach*Play program and for Classical Music Chicago's Young Peoples' Concerts program. KAIA founded DePaul University's Community Music Division chamber program where they inspire the next generation of performers. During the 2023-24 season, the KAIA String Quartet was invited to teach and perform at Michigan State University and Carthage College as artists-in-residence. In the summer of 2023, KAIA was on the New England Music Camp's Chamber Music Intensive faculty as the resident quartet and will be returning in the summer of 2024. Since 2018, KAIA has been the ensemble-in-residence for the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra's Summer Chamber Music Camp. The quartet traveled to Tijuana, Mexico to present and perform in schools through the sponsorship of the Mainly Mozart Festival annually between 2013 and 2017.

BREAKING BOUNDARIES both musical and geographical, cellist, composer, and multilingual vocalist IAN MAKSIN has created his own unique style by blending elements of different genres and traditional music from around the globe in a new way using his cello as the main unifying force.
ONE-MAN ORCHESTRA: He uses the loop pedal and other electronic devices to augment the sound of the cello and turn it into a virtual orchestra.
SINGING IN 34 LANGUAGES: What began as a hobby and a passion for linguistics and travel has become part of a unique concert experience. Ian Maksin sings in Ukrainian, Polish, English, Farsi, Armenian, French, Italian, Arabic, Hebrew, Mongolian, Bambara (one of the tongues spoken in West Africa), and many other exotic languages. Most of this repertoire was amassed by Maksin during his world travels, jam sessions, and collaborations with local musicians. Many of his original songs and instrumental compositions are infused with flavors of ethnic music from countries and regions where he drew inspiration: Mongolia, West Africa, the Middle East, the Balkans, and Andalusian flamenco.
THE GLOBAL MUSICIAN: Born in the former USSR into a multinational family, Ian grew up absorbing many cultures and traditions from an early age. He began playing guitar and piano at age 3 and cello at age 6 at the School for Gifted Children in Leningrad, then came to the USA at 16 to continue his studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. After working for many years in the classical genre, including a three-year tenure with the New World Symphony in Miami, Ian decided to look for his own musical path. His diverse musical experience, including playing rock and blues guitar and his passion for jazz and world music, has allowed him to take the cello to a new dimension and develop his own distinct style as a musician and composer. In Ian's own words: "At some point, I realized that music is much more than mere entertainment. Instead, it is one of the most powerful forces in the world, capable of healing, inspiring, bringing people together, and bringing peace among them. I believe that the cello will save the world.”

One of the busiest blues outfits in Chicagoland, the Smiley Tillmon Band is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. There’s an obvious reason why the veteran guitarist’s booking schedule is so jam-packed: Smiley knows how to have a good time and makes sure his audience does too. After 55 years on the local blues scene, Tillmon serves up the blues and soul standards that people never seem to stop craving, his rich vocals and fluid guitar backed by a band that keeps his grooves tight and right.
Born Moses Tillmon in rural Jefferson County, Georgia, Smiley grew up on a hearty musical diet of gospel, country, and a little blues. His mother moved to Fort Lauderdale when he was ten; there he was exposed to calypso music, adding up to a singular list of influences. Tillmon took up guitar and was good enough by the dawn of the ‘60s to back Miami R&B singer Billy Miranda in the studio. He joined Sammy Ambrose & the Afro-Beats, a calypso-oriented band, touring from Canada to New York. Smiley bid the Afro-Beats adieu in 1962 and moved to Chicago. There he established himself on the blues circuit, playing with Billy “The Kid” Emerson, Denise LaSalle, and other South Side luminaries until he opted for a day job in 1977.
Upon his 2007 retirement, Smiley reverted to full-time musical status. He joined forces with bassist Tom Rezetko, and they’ve been inseparable onstage ever since. Kate Moss shares guitar duties with Tillmon; married to another blues guitar standout, Nick Moss, Kate’s sound is heavily influenced by Freddie King and Magic Sam (she fell in love with the blues at age 21 when she met Buddy Guy, and she’s shared stages with Buddy, Jimmy Johnson, Eddie Shaw, and Lurrie Bell, to name just a few). Drummer George Baumann completes one of the Windy City’s toughest blues combos, one that’ll keep you smiling from ear to ear. - Bill Dahl

CATERINA BARBIERI uses vivid modular synthesis to explore how sound can induce both metaphysical and psycho-physical responses in the listener.
Her full-length debut album Patterns of Consciousness (Important Records, 2017) was namedone of the best releases of the year and the decade (Resident Advisor, Noisey, Fact Mag, The Wire). Her 2019 release on Editions Mego, Ecstatic Computation, has been critically acclaimed and is record of the year on Bleep.

About Deep Cricket Night:
Deep Cricket Night has come out of the pandemic with a sonic - style shift through the wormhole. We used the roots at the portal's gate as a ladder, climbing out of our past sound. The present sound regards fulfilling the new, post-pandemic range. For practical cliches, our sound is now akin to Joy Division meets 1970 Pink Floyd with Syd still in the room. The band is comprised of Lance Drake (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Greg MacAyeal(Bass), Dave Buoscio (Piano/Organ), Michael Ressler (drums).
Musically, DCN builds their original sound highlighted by the lead bass hooks of Greg MacAyeal and the vocal-lyrical strength of the band's primary songwriter, Lance Drake.
About Medical Miracle:

About:
The Bad Sneakers Orchestra is a tribute band formed in 2010 by Chicago bassist Paul Martin with an ambitious mission statement: to faithfully recreate the music of Steely Dan live, as represented on their classic albums. This goal necessitated a very large 14-piece ensemble, so that multiple keys and guitar parts, intricate vocal harmonies, and rich horn textures could be realized. After 10+ years of performances (with time off for Covid) the band is at its’ peak, offering the signature Fagen/Becker compositions with a casual aplomb and precision. (They make it look easy. It’s not.) And despite the fastidious attention paid to the recorded material, the members inevitably bring their individual voiceprints to bear within the framework of a cover tune.
A number of Chicago legends have guest starred with the Sneakers over the years, including fusion guitarists Ernie Denov, Chris Siebold, and Mike Pinto, vocalists Mike Harvey (who appeared on 2 Steely Dan albums and a Donald Fagen solo album), Cheryl Wilson (Peabo Bryson, Bertie Higgins), gospel sensation Tina Crawley, and saxophonist Steve Eisen. The charter members are top-drawer Chicago musicians, with decades of experience performing with some of the greatest names in the music industry. The current roster of regular members reads as follows:
Stevie Robinson Lead vocalist
Neal Alger Guitars
Pat Fleming Guitars
Kent Wehman Keys
Carter Luke Keys
Paul Martin Bass, Musical Director
Neal Wehman Drums
Kirk Garrison Trumpet
John Mose Trombone
Jim Massoth Tenor/Alto Sax
Tim McNamara Bari/Tenor Sax
Gayle Bisesi Background Vocals
Ameerah Tatum Lead/background vocals
Maggie Bynum Lead/background vocals
The BSO hopes to see you at a Chicagoland venue soon…..and please follow us on Facebook!
